2 Street Children of Russia

28 mrt. 2017

Take a glimpse into the lives of orphans and street kids. Abused and abandoned, all alone.

Each one has a story. They carry pain and abuse on their young shoulders each day.

Will you take the time to remember the broken lives of so many children who do not have a loving family? Children who live in an orphanage or on the streets need your love and support.

Millions of orphans will not break or pierce a person’s heart. But will the eyes of one pierce yours?

Take a look at the video of street kids in Russia. Help us show these little ones a glimpse of how much God values and loves them.

“For us, the Roma, it is our only work, because nobody will hire us”, says Renato, a scavenger earning half the average national wage. In the “dustbin of Europe”, countries such as Serbia, Slovenia and Russia dump their scrap in vast quantities. Yet Albania’s infrastructure is insufficient for dealing with this often toxic waste. Despite efforts to restrict imports, waste continues to enter under the guise of “raw material”. In towns such as Elbasan, home to a large metallurgical plant, the poor control on the industry is beginning to destroy the health of its workers. As one doctor describes, “On one hand, the community has been here for a long time, and needs work. But on the other, it cannot afford the sacrifice”.

8 Romania’s Forgotten Street Kids

15 okt. 2007

Streetwise Kids (1996) Potentially thousands of children are fending for themselves on the streets of Romania, but why aren’t they getting the help they need?

Dark nights conceal the shabbiness of Bucharest. Her shadows hide children sniffing glue from plastic bags; intoxicating themselves dulls hunger pangs and keeps them warm. Teenager Vali climbs down a man hole into an underground cave where he sleeps with six other children. Rubble and worn tyres litter the ground. After being beaten up in a children’s home, Vali chose a life on the streets. Anca Dionese works for Save the Children and spends her nights visiting different groups of street children. She bribes them to give up glue sniffing with second hand clothes. By building up emotional relationships with them, she wins their trust. Near a metro station, she is upset to discover Maricica, a recent convert, sniffing glue with old friends. Maricica attends a day centre backed by the French where the children are encouraged to develop talents such as juggling. Official government policy is to return children to a stable family wherever possible. Report includes interviews with the Ministry of Education, Director of a State Orphanage and the Romanian Child Protection Committee. Profiles of the children prove distressing but it appears the government is renewing its efforts.

Since the 1990s, an average of one child a week has vanished in Albania. Locals suspect the children are being sold abroad. There are even claims they’re being abducted for their organs.

“The danger of abduction is always there”, laments a school warden. He takes the threat so seriously, the school gates are manned at all times. Nasim Greka sold newborn babies for adoption in Greece. “We made maybe 20,30 deals at most”.

11 France’s Shocking 20th Century Slave Trade

Island of the Lost Children-France:1,600 children were transported from the island of Reunion to France in the 1960s and were forced to work as slaves.

For more information and downloads visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=12029

Children from Reunion were transported to rural France during the 1960s and forced to work as slave labourers by the French government.

Jean-Pierre Gosse was detained as a virtual slave on a French farm. He shows his young daughter around the fields where he once worked. “Daddy used to sleep under straw to keep warm. And daddy used to share the dog’s food,” he tells her. He was just one of 1,600 children transported from the island of Reunion to work in France. The children were promised an education and frequent holidays home but these benefits never materialised. Instead they were forced to work unpaid for up to 20 hours a day. Other children were stolen from their parents and given to French families. Now the lost children of Reunion are fighting for compensation. As Gosse explains: “I want the state to officially admit that they deliberately deported people to make slaves of them.”

12 Sewers hide the lost children of Mongolia

Children Under Ground, 2001 – Mongolia’s capital has 3000 children sleeping in the sewers every night, many have appalling stories to tell.

For downloads and more information visit:
http://www.journeyman.tv/9446/short-f…

Every night 3,000 children vanish into the manholes of Ulan Bator, seeking shelter from the bitter cold. Q: “How long have you been living here? A: Two years…” When morning comes they emerge from the stinking sewers to look for food in the sweepings along the street.Urban homelessness and poverty is a new feature of this ancient nomad society; dating to the fall of the Soviet regime in 1990. For many children the impact of market reform has been devastating: “People have become more and more poor, alcoholism is widespread and there is violence in the families. This is the main reason children run away”, says UNICEF. Others are orphans “My father died and so I came here”. A stark Image of a vast country battered by the icy winds of change.

these videos are not for entertainment, they are clearly “fair dealing” under UK copyright law and are exempt as they are reporting current affairs, as I am sure you are aware UK courts “bear in mind that considerations of public interest are paramount”.
UK courts see the fair dealing defence usually only applies when part of a work has been taken such as small clips as per my youtube videos.

Reporting of current events

Under Section 30(2), fair dealing using any work for the purpose of reporting current events, with sufficient acknowledgement, is a valid exception to copyright. Photographs are excluded, however; Cornish, Llewelyn and Aplin write that this is “in order to preserve the full value of holding a unique visual record of some person or event” (6TH FEB 2015) DONT LET THEM BACK IN.
