Er is veel misgegaan bij de adopties uit de jaren 70 en 80.
Destijds zijn adoptiekinderen uit zowel India, Bangladesh en China, zonder medeweten van hun ouders naar Nederland gebracht.
Ook werd er geknoeid met de papieren van de kinderen. Het is daardoor heel ingewikkeld voor hen geworden om hun biologische familie terug te vinden.
Maar wat was de rol en verantwoordelijkheid van de Nederlandse staat bij deze adopties?
Bekijk ons onderzoekverhaal: in hoeverre was de Nederlandse staat op de hoogte van deze schimmige adoptie praktijken en hoe hebben zij destijds gehandeld?
Terre des Hommes kondigde na onze berichtgeving drie jaar geleden aan onderzoek te doen naar de gebeurtenissen in Bangladesh. Dit onderzoek is inmiddels bijna afgerond, meldt de organisatie.

Cyclist mother asks some helpful people in the park to help her with directions on a map. While she’s at it, she points to a loose screw that’s fallen to the ground from her bicycle’s child seat, and asks the prank victims to reattach it. Then, she pedals away, but while she’s cycling, the baby seat comes loose and the kid goes tumbling to the ground. The mom even keeps riding for awhile, dragging the poor little kid on the cement path – to the horror of the watching prank victims, who believe that they’re responsible for the accident.
