Former Post Office chief Chris Day has told the Horizon IT Inquiry he understood problems with the Horizon system had been addressed around the time he joined the organisation in August 2011, and was “not unduly concerned” about them at the time.

Day was shown an email from the company’s product and branch accounting division head Rod Ismay, sent in September 2011, concerning Horizon’s integrity. The email included a report Mr Ismay had prepared in 2010, and encouraged Mr Day to read it.

Asked by counsel to the Inquiry Catriona Hodge if he was concerned to be told about problems with Horizon, Mr Day replied that he thought “those had all been addressed at the time”.
