VICE News has gained access to an underground network in London who help rescue ex-Muslims. WATCH NEXT: Inside the brutal, final battle against ISIS in Syria – http://bit.ly/2NJcxqd
I have so much respect for the people in this video, they are literally putting their lives on the line for doing nothing more than leaving a religion.
I’m a father of three, I’m a religious person. But if my kids became atheist, I’d never dream of hurting them. My only concern is for their health and safety.
Oh god , i cried on watching this because it is a true story for me . My best friend was honored killed by her family in Bengal , because she became an atheist . No media outrage , nothing . Everybody knew we will get killed too by this community if we spread the word . I feel so guilty , i developed anxiety . I am 23 now, was 16 when it had happened. We moved to a different state now. I am sorry to my bf for whom I couldn’t find justice, i hope you forgive me.
As someone said, “The fine line between a religion and a cult is when you try and leave it.”
Freedom ; millions take it for granted , millions fight for it everyday.
I’m an Afghan Muslim my 13 year old son said he’s not religious and feel like becoming a atheist. I told him be a good human , that’s what’s important. I would never ever think of harming my son because of religion . Religion and spirituality is very personal can’t be forced .
when muslims are in the minority they are very concerned with minority rights, when they are in the majority there are no minority rights
Freedom of religion also includes freedom from religion. What these people (the abusers, beaters and murderers) are doing to ex-muslims is disgusting and they (the abusers, beaters and murderers) are being inhuman. All the best to those that are able to leave. I hope that you are all okay.
Religions are supposed to be something that fills the emptiness you felt in your mind, something that you lacked, someone to guild you through life. Not something that harms you and other people.
I left the religion when I was around 14/15 and only my friends and one cousin knows about it. If your Muslim please read this: Im not a activist nor do I speak out against the religion. I just want to live in peace and mind my own business. I was born into a religion which I didn’t choose to be part of but now I have a chance to decide for myself. You may not agree with my choices and that’s fine, but don’t persecute me nor threaten my life. We are all humans and we should have the freedom to practice our faith. To everyone else: I haven’t come out to my family yet cause i know I’ll get kicked out of the house or maybe k*lled (my mum is very strict). Here is an important tip that no one ever gave me: make friends and strong relations with people who you know are going to help and be there for you (I was lucky as my friends were very supportive). Family isn’t about blood relations but those who you can count on. And if your parents love you conditionally and disown you for something as little as not believing in the same God as them and even going to a extent to threaten your life, you don’t need them in your life. Don’t shed a tear for them cause trust me they won’t for you, their religion comes first- no matter how much you had supported them through their rough times. (From personal experience) May you all be able to find peace in your life.
I missed the day when VICE has the ball to make this kind of video
I was absolutely shocked that Vice produced this segment. Normally the liberal media outlets are reluctant to produce anything that depicts Muslims in a bad light. This was great, unapologetic honesty.
AronRa
I’m delighted that I was able to interview Rana myself, in Germany.
Rana has balls the size of a freakin’ airliner. Seriously, so much effort, so much risk just trying to live the life she wants. Such a hero.
Thank God she was able to escape. I really feel for her. ️
Bless her and millions upon millions of other men, women, and children who deserve happiness and freedom.
When that girl talked about suicide attempts and the loneliness getting to her, and it feeling like nobody wants or needs you. I felt that.
“i want to live like normal people’ that really hit me hope you have a good life Rana
The lady from Saudi, her dream was to walk on the street alone. Just imagine, something as simple as a walk alone is not possible for the Saudi Women. It’s shameful really.
I’m an atheist who’s living in a religious Christian household in the Bible Belt of the US and I used to think I had it hard… and I’m not getting chased down and beaten for thinking scientifically and logically. Oh my lord. This is terrible. I wish the best for the people in the video and comments. This is so disgusting.
Someone adopts or leaves a faith is an individual’s choice. That doesn’t make that faith big or small. Live and let live
I am born Hindu, my family or my friends never objected me visiting Darga (Sufi shrine), chapel, Gurdwara, Buddhist temple. In fact I was curious and respected all religions equally.
honestly, i love how everyone on youtube is so honest about this topic. you hardly see anyone even talking about it on tiktok, and if they do, they would be cancelled and called islamophobic.
“I’ve dreamt about this in Saudi Arabia, to dance in the street”. That sentence alone tells about their world so much.
when i was a child, my family helped a Muslim mother and her children escape their abusive Muslim husband/father when they wanted to convert to Christianity bc he didn’t know who we were and they were safe with us. it was such a scary situation, but they’re doing better now.
I am Ex Christian and not turning back. Rana, I feel bad for you. At least my family will not kill me for leaving Christianity.
For an ideology that claims to be the “complete solution”, it definitely has a hard time dealing with criticism or renouncement. Lol
When she said she misses her mother’s food she’s a brave woman!!!
This breaks my heart. When I was 17 this happened to someone very close to me, also 17, and there was no support or information at the time (1990s). We never really knew what had happened: we were all blocked from going to see him in intensive care after he “jumped” (or was pushed) off a tall building after being threatened by his family that if he didn’t get an arranged marriage in Iraq that they would kill him, all because they found out he was having a relationship with a Jewish person. First of all, his father locked him in the house, not allowing phonecalls or visitors and escorted him to and from school, then the next thing we knew he was dead. He died in hospital and we his friends, were banned by his family from attending his funeral. The verdict was suicide, but we never found out if it was actually murder. He was just a kid. He didn’t believe in Islam: he just wanted to go to university in a year and get on with his life. If there had been support available back then, I wonder if he would have lived. I still have his photograph. He looks so incredibly young and it’s just grotesque that anyone would do that to their own child, their own family, drive them to suicide or kill them. I’m just glad that people are getting the support they need in these horrendous situations. Thank you to everyone who has helped save the lives of people suffering in this way. At the time none of us knew about or understood the gravity of the situation. If we’d have understood what was happening, I think we could have saved him. It happened so fast.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Imtiaz? Like the man is working so hard to help people, with risk to himself as well. Truly selfless man, he has my respect.
I’m a practising muslim myself ( my uncle is an imam) but damn just leave the ex-muslims alone, it’s none of your businees, it’s between them and Allah. Like focus on improving yourself instead of attacking others.
I’m an ex Muslim too, trust me its not the extremists that only want my head, the majority of ordinary people here agree with the killing of apostates
The amount of respect I have for people leaving Islam is hard to put into words, (especially the Women).
A few months back I met a girl, I got to spend some quality time with her she told me about herself how her father never discussed religion stuff with her and he was pretty much secular person but when he got to know about her decision of leaving Islam he stopped talking to her and that really broke her heart, she felt like she never understood her father at all. She now an independent girl ,works fine and is about to join the Legal wing of The Indian Armed Forces. Her family members, relatives have stopped Calling her (except her two cousins) to any family function, they don’t call her at all ,it’s like all relations are now dead just because she made a decision about her religious identity. She does not do Islam bashing she is no more Muslim though. She is now irreligious to the core, she says she has had it all, she needs no religion.
I’m proud to be a murtad. Stay safe and stay strong brothers and sisters
The western world and other developed countries really should prioritize helping these ex-Muslim people when they take in immigrants.
Rana’s incredible courage to embark on such a journey only serves to underline the desperation she must’ve felt. I can’t begin to imagine the obstacles she overcame in order to simply experience what the majority of us take for granted. Wishing her all the very best for the future.
The difference between a Religion and a Cult is what happens when you try to leave.
She’s soo brave what an amazing woman i can never be like her she’s so inspiring
left Islam and became an atheist since college. I still remember when my parents stopped funding my study program and stopped me from college then forced me to enter the Madrasa for refusing to worship and questioning the existence of Allah and the Prophet then because i refusing to learn in madrasa then i decide to take my savings and ran away from home . and via text message my parents “officialy” kicked me out of the house and told me that they had told all the people I know that I was an apostate, and todays it has been about 6 years since I left my home, family and friends . and so far I feel alone and intimidated because my family and friends alienate me . I even sometimes receive death threats from the unknown people that I guess they were my friends when I was from elementary to high school . because I studied at the Islamic Boarding School and because I only work as a grab driver to meet all my college needs and daily life . and it turns out that now I just realized that I was not alone in this world , there is also many people who left Islam and get the same reaction from their family and friends . I hope they stay strong
Great respect to women for handling such difficult situations in life…leaving the only people u have for u…facing the world alone with doubts and uncertainities…battling lonliness and suicidal tendencies..i hope she is happy forever in life
I am so glad I escaped this religion, and it is also music to my ears to know I’m not the only one who felt suffocated.
Now if you say you disagree with aspects of this religion such as the execution of apostates, you’re accused of Islamophobia. How times have changed.
10:10 Her first day in Turkey and she is dancing. She truly is fearless. You can just tell she has yearned to live her authentic life all this time. Any updates on her at all? It’s been 5 years.
I am Muslim myself, I understand where she’s coming from. In our culture, we love to really connect culture to religon and it’s a huge issue to us because when doing so, it creates boundaries and challenges to face. I’m happy to be Muslim but inshallah may Allah(GOD) protect the women from danger inshallah!
I’m an ex-muslim and I have to tell you that trying to undo years of brain-wash isn’t a joke, it takes years especially when the religion wasn’t forced on you and you actually loved with extreme reliance
she looks so normal, free and full of life that girl uncovered…and so beautiful…that means life …she deserves to live a normal life like any other human being…
Islam is so peaceful that when you change your mind, you have to literally flee for your life.
I’m listening to this while working and I had to pause it because it’s making me emotional, about to cry. All she wanted is to be able to do little things that are normal for me (for example walking down the street alone and wearing anything you want to) and she has to risk her life going to places just to be in a country where she can do those little things in life.
Such a brave girl. My heart goes to her. May life turns out smooth and better for her.
It is sad that parents can not accept the fact that their children do not have the same faith as theirs. Faith is very personal and people should have the freedom to make their choices.
I left islam a few months ago and this video gave me chills
In Jordan I knew a young man who told me that his brother had disappeared. He found out years later that his brother had told his father he was gay and the father, and two uncles drove him out to the desert and slahed his throat. As he told me this, he was shaking. The only reason he confessed this to me after knowing me for such a long time was because I was leaving JORDAN. He made me swear that I would never go public with this, and I won’t as his life would be in danger.
Wow, such a peaceful religion
Even so all these crimes, my atheist teacher said that religions are good and push people to do good things. At that moment, I wanted to say to her that many scholars in islam wanna kill apostates, but I didn’t dare as my father could kill me if he knew.
Watching the video of the lady dancing in the street made my heart sing, you can see her pure joy at having that small freedom
Support to ex muslims
It’s liberating to see how this brave young girl is chasing her dream and wants to live independent her parents and the brother should be proud of her she’s a beautiful human being and a fighter well done
This all depends on family or the people you know as a muslim I’ve never gone through that and hope the best for people who decide to leave Islam and it also depends on culture a lot. Please don’t get culture and family messed up
Ex Muslim fromm Tunisia and my parents accepted they said we dont care what religion you follow you are our son and that enough for us as simple as that . i was lucky i guess
I worked in OMAN as a teacher. One of the teachers in my office was an OMANI and he was so nice and polite. I never thought I would hear him say what he said, “If I ever found out that a MUSLIM in OMAN or any other place converted to another religion or stopped believing in ISLAM, I would personally kill him.” My jaws dropped. Another teacher who was also a MUSLIM (but not radical) asked him to repeat what he said: “Surely you are just kidding, right?” To which he responded, “No, I mean it, I would have him killed or kill him myself.” And this happened in OMAN where ARABS are a bit more relaxed. Imagine in other parts of the MUSLIM world like Yemen, Saudi Arabai, Afghanistan, Iran or Iraq.
You go girl, you are now inspiration to many girls out their. Your parents should be proud of you.
One of my Friend who left islam also facing many Threats in Karnataka. And we have give to all those Moral and social support as in democracy it is there choice .
Watching her dance in the street with such abandon was lovely – something wonderful about the freedom to make an absolute jackass of yourself 🙂 Most of us rely on a bit of dutch courage to do it… good luck Rana, you deserve it – they say fortune favours the brave.
I find horrendous that any religion or cult that claims to have God’s truth, persecute or shun people who dissent. If you have the truth you do not fear people that leave. Same goes for Jevohas witness, Mormons…
Man! this happened in England?! That’s sick.
This gentleman is a very brave man and he should be celebrated.
For a second I thanked the life I have even more ! This breathe, my understanding parents, choice to do or not to do something – be it wrt studying further, the way I dress up()to some extent), to be single or get married, to read and trek to my hearts cotent, to just be and do anything I want -> I am really grateful. This video made me teary eyed, I wish that girl a wonderful life and not once doubt or regret what she did. I hope and wish she studies well and lives a really good life -> the one where she takes long walks and sees beautul sunrises and sunsets and just enjoys life.
It was so sad to hear what we take for granted i.e walking alone in streets is dream for someone. Ronna is very brave, smart and lovable, God bless her!
I’m an Ex-Muslim Atheist Agnostic from Malaysia 🇲🇾️. Always remember that you’re not alone, There’s many other Ex-muslims all over the world, U just haven’t meet them in person yet.️🇲🇾🇬🇧🇺🇲
I am a Indian Bengali, I had a friend in my college who was an open minded muslim, he used to attend our Hindu festivals like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Holi, etc. He used to tell me that he found Islam to be very regressive and harsh and wished he was born into some other religion. After the yearly semester was over, he went back to his village in Murshidabad and didn’t return. There was absolutely no contact for months, later I found that he was killed by his own family on the orders of a local muslim cleric/imam who found his liberal ideology as kaffir and haram. The muslims in his village even refused to bury his body. The police framed this incident as a family dispute rather than a systematic Islamic fanaticm. Mind you this happened in West Bengal, India, I fear what happens in Islamic nations with Shariah. I had a facebook friend from neighbouring Bangladesh who was mauled to death for writing blogs critical of Islamic fundamentalism.
Do not submit, and never apologize for opposing Islamic oppression!
I am German. And I am very proud of my country!!!! I hope Rana will like being in Germany!🇩🇪️️️️️️️️️
Faith can’t be forced. I was only atheist in my house but noone abuse me in my Family. Then something turn my faith back into Hinduism.
You go girl! Fantastic result and many good wishes for the future. You will fulfill your dreams of residency and study. Freedom! Stay well xx
Most of us are hiding but WE EXIST, Stay strong my fellow Ex-Muslims brothers and sisters good luck
what a strong person, such strength, amazing.
I am so proud of her! I wish her the best in her new life.
I don’t know about other atheist watching this, but I keep crying when I hear these personal stories. It breaks my heart…
Peace and love to ex-Muslims dealing with the consequences of leaving Islam
im so happy for her wish you the best and happiness in Germany.
Remember to not get mix up with culture and religion, they’re two different things! ️
I’m ex Muslim Iive in iraq basically you should live a life in shadows hide your thoughts and opinions as far as u can coz if the community find out latterly Noone Gonna help you no friends no family no sh!t . Freedom its comes later now keep ur self safe
I think I’d like to donate to this group, gives me hope
Imagine being bullied just to leave your religion
my god, i was shocked, not because of what happened, but because this happened in the UK. Seriously, this has to stop, like asap.
incredible journey. I tipped my hat to her. I think many more countries would be more welcoming if ALL religions were left on the doorstep..
Much respect to Rama! I’m so happy she made it to Germany ️ A fellow woman from Japan
Thank you for having the courage to make a video on such a topic
All these stories told by these people are true. I have heard 100 such stories.
If someone is leaving any religion He is having common sense
I am a Buddhist Me to my mom :- I want to be atheist My mom: – like i care me : alright i better be Buddhist
It’s really difficult being a left winger who believes fundamentally in equality, but also personal liberty – and I find that impossible to reconcile with religious belief. Religious brings out the worst aspects of humanity, and Islam is especially poisonous.
May God bless Germany for giving asylum to people in mortal danger.
Even as a Muslim, I know people who have left Islam. Sometimes it’s because of influence, sometimes they think it’s to much, sometimes they just want to believe something else. As Muslims, we shouldn’t result to violence, murder, or even imprisonment. There should be a proper approach. let them think first, give them a chance to choose what they want to believe.
Am just flattered with joy to see the happiness that Rana has now️
This is insane… damn..what a sick mentality religion. I can actually relate this with myself. After marrying my muslim girlfriend, the height of trauma I faced by these people.
left islam yesterday. I’m starting university on the 29th, hopefully when I finally become financially independent and live on my own, I can be free. this morning I made some friends who are also EU ex Muslims, hungry for a career, education and a community. You’re not alone, every day there’s more of us! don’t isolate yourself, please!
She just wanted to be like any normal girl and she had to go through all those tough journeys
I feel so lucky to be from the USA. It is really so sad to think of the suffering these people go through
These brave youngsters have saved themselves & they should help save others too!
Dude had his neighbour casually wielding an axe around. You can’t say these are just extremists. There’s something fundamentally fundamental about the religion itself.
Never thought I’d leave a “like” on a Vice video but they’ve done the right thing here exposing the truth about Islam.
Imagine hating your daughter/ sister to the point of murder because you don’t agree that she doesn’t believe in a skydaddy and wants to be free
“Family doesn’t know she’s converting or where exactly in Turkey” Family: watches this video Poor girl 2 weeks later:
I thought leaving Islam must be difficult in some Islamic Republic but to my surprise this is happening in Western Nations. Wow.
Its so blissful to see her happy
These people are very brave telling their stories publicly. I hope their attackers get sent to prison… bunch of scumbags
I’ve never heard about leaving Islam=Death. Humans have a right to choose their religion. Once they chose it the question is will they stay with it? Will they trust it. If not then there are 2 things. Seek help or leave.
The happiness of freedom on her eyes
watching this journey horrified me. I just wish you all the best and love <3
ex Muslim from Algeria But I am not an Atheist, I am with the side of Agnosticism , because I believe in God, but in a scientific way, I always say to myself logic first and then faith. and I thank my family Because they were understanding and in the end I was able to convince them
I’m so blessed to born in a Hindu family I’m so lucky ️️
she can make a autobiography on her life and the journey from saudi to europe. that was a hell of a ride
When someone says Islam is a religion of peace
What a peaceful religion.
Even in western countries? You gotta be kidding me! My kind advice to all Ex-Muslim Christians or atheists. Just keep it as a secret of leaving Islam instead of threatening yourself and your family with death when you are surrounded by radical barbarians. -From India
I teared up. What a brave, brave girl! Peace and blessings be with you.
I’m so thankful I wasn’t born in to that religious beliefs. My heart goes out to these people facing persecution.
I stopped dealing with my Islamic family long ago I know at a very young age that I was going to be an ex-Muslim. They were always trying to marry me off I had to run for my life.
Thanks Vice for showing us the reality. I had goosebumps when she said she wanted to study nuclear science. May God bless her always. Imtiaz if you ever need any help, please let us know. May be we can help you with our small efforts . Stay safe !!
I wish them all the best, I wish that in Islamic countries they would change their laws. So that those who want to leave can do so. If you are so secure that your faith is strong and the right one. Why does it matter to you if some of them leave?
I dunno how to explain my feelings. its really hard to believe Islam stands for peace after watching this. Im glad that im from other religion.
Those who support her are brave souls. I salute her and her silent supporters for assisting her is great news. Hope her life goes smoothly like a Swiss watch. My guess is she will succeed from the cruelty of the fanatics.
This just makes me mad, everyone has the right to their choosing of religion,,,even if you don’t agree with it,,cos it’s their life ,their choices ,..please let’s not judge
Can’t believe it happens in Uk… Shame on UK
At this day and age, its really unthinkable that people are still persecuted because of their beliefs. Why cant we just respect people and their beliefs and get along? More blessing to these people willing to fight for their right to independence.
Thank you Imtiyaz for your compassion, courage and endurance. God bless you.
WOW SO PEACEFUL but on a serious note stay safe ex Muslims you are in a precarious situation and I wish yall the best
The true face of any religion or ideology expresses itself, on how it treats those who leave it.
Was holding my breath watching Rana’s journey to Germany…. some moments I thought she wouldn’t make it. I hope she’s doing well <3
Why are you protecting the identity of the man carrying the axe we should publically shame him
After watching this video I am really proud of being hindu. A religion who doesn’t disturb anyone, never hurts anyone, accepts everything. Hare Krishna
we are family to each other, because we understand the pain !
God bless and protect her!
I feel so bad for Rana. I hope she gets to be free and safe. ️
Personal choice, nobody’s business but the persons– when will humans realize this
I’m a Hindu and my parents never told me to do anything religious. I basically visit temples 4-5 times a year and that’s it. I think my religion is beautiful but I don’t think I have enough time to put efforts to go deep. However, I have freedom to choose whatever I want to do is what makes me feel better about it.
This is the Vice we long for Thank you Vice..
Respect to those brave and intelligent people, who courageously leave Islam for a better and more meaningful way of life.
Thank god that I grew up in a Muslim family that actually let me decide which religion I wanted to believe in when I was old enough and that would always accept my choices.
Beautiful story, but I am worried for her safety. I wonder how she is now.
let me just state that, as an ex muslim myself, even the thought of leaving Islam is considered blasphemy, because they believe Allah can hear your thoughts. It is a literal mental prison
Religion of peace loving and understanding!
These are the people who love “Dunya” so much and they don’t care what religion they are in, whether Islam or Christian or Budha or Hindu; they’ll do the same!
I used to be a muslim and i 100% confirm this
The speech in the beginning. I love it
I can relate to this. I officially quit Islam and became agnostic last year, and I have since been shunned by my father and the entire muslim community in my estate. I used to think I had it bad, but seeing this just breaks my heart. So much for the “religion of peace”. Smh.
As a muslim, I feel so sorry for what happened to this people, no one should be harassed when they want to keep their religion or convert to another religion, it’s our rights and other people have no opinion about what we chose. And for the people who said “they said islam is a peaceful religion, peaceful my ass” or things like that, it’s okay, you see so many bad people who are muslim and started thinking that we are all the same that’s fine, bc for me the truth about islam and muslim is in the Qur’an, if u want to know what islam really means and how should muslim behave you can read Qur’an, do not just look at someone and be like “yeah their religion influence them to be like this”
Praying for her ️️️
When you reach this decision, please move away from that community where you are known.
Western nations should always give priority to ex Muslims over typical religious fanatics.
Rana God bless you . Love you for your indomitable courage .
A Religion that is so “PEACEFUL”, when you leave “You must left your soul”
That Saudi girl Rana really made me emotional.
So happy for Rana. Ex Muslims are always welcome in India.
Rana, you are truly a success story! Big inspiration!
people have the right to choose!
Sara’s story is really sad but I’m so glad she had the courage to escape. I hope she is doing better now.
My mom rather wants me to join isis than being an atheist I remember I cried that day.
10:10 this is so beautiful. Simple things like dancing can be a huge deal for muslim women.
İzmir is the most progressive city in Turkey, even my friends from Europe appreciate how free and warm it is. I can imagine what a radical change It must have been for her.
I come from a hindu bramhin family my entire family belives in prayer and god and other religious stuff meanwhile I do not believe in existence of any such entity what does that do for us… it sparks interesting conversations and debates… like humans we communicate our differences and don’t kill each other
Hinduism spreads happiness, peace and brotherhood among people.
May God bless everyone who escapes the false promises of Islam.
One of the most powerful documentry i’ve ever seen. Ex-muslim here. Cheers!
This is sad they are brave people.
I’m an exjw atheist from 🇬🇪 and I just want every apostate from any religion too know that you’re not alone there are millions of people like you , you just feel like you’re the only one Couse you haven’t met them 😉
In my church, if you want to come then come, if you want to stay, you stay if you want to move to another church, move away if you want to convert to islam, your choice if you want to stop coming to church, not a problem. religion is your personal relationship with God, not someone else’s business. This january my uncle converted to islam because apparently his mistress influenced him to convert so he could have more than one wives and it’s his own choice.
We are born in a religion without our knowledge. Still one is firm and ready to die for it. This absurdity going on across the world for centuries shattering the dream of humanity.
“Oh believers! whoever among you abandons their faith, Allah will replace them with others who love him and are loved by him.
I’m losing my faith at the age of 12. I am so glad I found this, I thought I was the only one.
I Support You Helping People That Changes Religion From Muslim To Other
God Bless all my fellow Christian and Muslim brothers. I pray for peace.
I stop believing in religion in Arab Saudi, my whole family and friends love me more because of it. Trust me none of us are persecuted and my name is Abdullah I’ll be still seen as Muslim by my name.
This is sad man How can someone like control when they fall in love Suppressing ur feelings only makes them greater
Nuclear physics or nuclear engineering , imagine how many scientists an Arabic country could produce if they let women decide for themselves ️
Europeans are such accommodating people. People come to your place, and build mosques, and have their own social circles that does not follow the European cultures.. What if Europeans come to the middle east, become residents, and practice their own cultures, not following the middle east cultures? Can that happen?
such a religion of peace
Muslim claim Islam as a religion of peace. But as soon as you leave islam or even express any doubt about Islamic belief they will demand your beheading. Ex-muslim from Bangladesh but cant express it even in my family as it’s life threatening.
im so happy for her she made it YES
As a Muslim myself, I feel very bad for people who feel like it’s right to kill people for leaving the religion. Islam doesn’t allow selfharm or harm to others, where do these people get the idea from, that killing atheists is okay? It’s not. I won’t ever force religion. Seeing this makes it hard for me to defend the religion I love.
wow such a peaceful and tolerant religion
Reminds you of have valuable your freedom is. This is why I’m a Western liberal and have a disdain for religious persecution anywhere in the world
What a brave girl Rana God bless her.
I once chat with a young men from egypt. He said hes atheist and hes afraid so he puts on a mask everyday, he wanted to leave. He was so sad it broke my heart.
hats off to Rana. you go girl. May your god guide you to new heights. Hope you achieve you dream of becoming a Nuclear Engineer or Physicist. You are a very bold girl. You must write a book. May peace be with you.
As a Buddhist, this sounds too violence to comprehend. In Buddhism, we love and accept all forms of loves, loves for all religions, love for LGBT, love for spirits and the unseen entities. If you truly love and kind, you are not against any forms of loves as long as it is out of goodness
Some Muslims mix negative traditions and culture with religion, leaving a religion should be easy and peaceful. Religion is a way/perspective of life And many people have different opinions, lets maintain respect and tolerance.
In every religion, there is this type of treatment in some part. But not every one does like this
The moment belief supplants reason and faith supplants fact, religion becomes dangerous, harmful, and inhumane. Wherever we find hope, inspiration, stimulation, and community, may we stay kind and keep curious
“Religion of peace” they said.
I had the strangest experience when I was a kid. When I was about 16 years old I met a girl named Rosie. She was a Malaysian Muslim. we became great friends. we never kissed, held hands, or anything further. Just friends and nothing else. But she would drive me home from school (she was 17, old enough to hold a provisional license in West Australia back then). Sometimes we would have dinner with my parents after we did our homework. I thought she was great. I really did have a crush on her. But she was already promised to a 25-year-old Chef working where I lived who for whatever reason was illegally still here. Rosie told me this. I don’t know if Rosie wanted me to do something about that, But she never implied there was a threat, so I would never intervene in that. I kick myself every day for not enquiring more about these things. It was so weird. I knew she had a thing for me and I had a big crush on her. I’ve never been able to stop thinking about what happened to her because I always got the feeling this was not really what she wanted. She wore a hijab and I am not saying she wanted to quit Islam, but I knew something was up with her. something weighed heavy on her. Then one day, she disappeared from school. I didn’t worry at the time. I saw her car all the time near where I lived. I assumed she got in trouble for being friends with me. I didn’t know back then what that might mean. she never ever mentioned Islam to me. I’m 46 years old now and I wish I knew what happened to her. I worry a lot about it. I was young, naive, and knew nothing about Islam. Our relationship was innocent. I wish she had said more about her circumstances and I wish I had asked. In all my younger years (and older years) I never met anyone so happy, kind, and just plain nice. She was so polite. A human-like Rosie deserves freedom so that they might spread those beautiful traits to others. If she was restricted to house duties and childbearing and nothing else that would kill me. If anyone hurt her, forced her etc. I think I would die inside. I had a quite few childhood friends of many cultures, she was the only female and the only Muslim friend I had as a child. Obviously later I would make friends or work with other Muslims (all men) and many other people of a diverse range of backgrounds. But non stand out like Rosie. I hope she is ok.
Mashallah what a peaceful religion
Islam: Synonyms: Intolerance, violence, depravity, hatred……
I have nothing but respect for rana
Peaceful community…
I was so scared for her the entire time and just praying that she’d make it out safely!
That’s oppression a human must be free to follow what ever he understands good for him live and let live we supports and love exmuslims from all around the world
Ex-muslim here, can relate
Rana is a fighter – truly one of a kind amongst those death culture cult called Islam! Hope she is well and doing great today. Would be happy to help her in any way I can!
Finally a documentary with a happy ending :))
Exmuslims here , I left 4 years ago This doc gives me hope
I’m Muslim and I’m so happy for Rana for finding happiness ️
As a muslim i dont care with people who leave islam because only Allah who can guide a person, many people leaving islam but also many people converted to islam and its a common phenomenon “La Ikraha Fid Din”
I hope Rana is finally free of threats and living like a normal human being
While watching the video and reading the comments has made me feel truly upset about what many go through, I think that people need to understand the religion itself is nothing like this. From watching this video, I find that the woman isn’t running because of the religion, but is instead running away because of the practices of her country, which are two completely different topics. Islam is an extremely peaceful religion and has an immense amount of respect for women; however when mixed into politics, just like anything else, it can be misinterpreted and used for corrupt reasons. A perfect example of this was the mix of church and state many years ago in Europe. Anyways, the rules, laws, and practices in any religion-based country, in this case, the Islamic counties, are created by the people of the society (the government) and are carried out differently in each country. The core beliefs these nations follow do not differ, but the ways that they are implemented do greatly. This is why I think it is extremely important that people understand Islam for what it truly is, and not by how it is perceived or practiced in the world. I didn’t put this comment out here to offend anyone in any way, but rather bring awareness to a more reasonable truth of the current situation.
That’s so peaceful
Religion of peace ️️
What a crazy opening. Insane story, but definitely overblown, let’s just say I have personal experience. I suppose every situation can have a crazy side.
That’s wrong, idk why they do this.. you can mess with the guy but not mess with the man’s family home. Let him be if he wants to be whatever he wants.
ex muslim from UK. thank you so much for this documentary. we need more!
She is a strong woman
Imtiaz Shams is a true hero.
I hope you do more for ex Muslims.. To expose the terrorism of Islam
Any muslims questioning your faith just know we are here. We are happy to talk and see you as our brother and sister humans. First and foremost we are all humans. Religion comes second.
Who else cried watching this
I m a Muslim but very disappointed to see. Every individual has right to choose their faith.
I am hindu by birth and atihest from last 20 yrs … my family, relatives , friends, neighbourhood never questioned on my faith and choice of freedom . Even many time I use bad word for many GODs, forefathers, high level national figure , freedom fighter, noble prize winner of indian origin … and still I enjoy my freedom of speech without fear.
This is really scary May God help them.
This woman’s story would make a great movie
Such a beautiful and peaceful religion ️ I cannot see anything wrong about Islam
Woh!!! my Allah how you made a peaceful cult!!!
I mean if the family threw them out thats their business,as long as you live under your parents you abide by their rules ,but if you are living on your own making your own money its your right to choose whatever path , it is totally wrong to deny them that
I had a brother who had same case. Luckily, some peoples in here accept him to be a non-muslim. In my assumption, my brother had took this way to find “a way of truth” for himself. If we remember our Prophet, Abraham, Thy took a way to lead his belief in god. And that’s is still a procces and hard way human to find his God to belief with.
It makes me angry to see, as a German, that we are taking in so many brainwashed people who are often Islamists in disguise, or people who are very strong Muslim believers and in my eyes very intolerant people, people of whom we have enough in our country, people who only cause problems and who are not compatible with Western values, they despise these values. But this young and brave woman has to take this damn dangerous route into Europe, and these people who truly crave freedom are the people I would love to take into Germany and have around me. What a pretentious world. All the best to this young lady, may she study whatever she wants and date whomever she wants and live the life she craves for.
I feel very pity for them.. I’m as a real Hindu atheist who living with family who have declared as atheist to my family. My family is very supportive for me and my choice.. I have never disrespect other religion and my parents feeling also… I wish every person should have their own freedom of choice..
Struggling of the same situation here. Man it brought me so much joy when i saw that she got to Germany and living free. I wish to feel as free someday ..
Whether you guys hated or not … Islam will triumph against all odds You all will understand the truth when your soul will come up on your throat,,
when muslims are in the minority they are very concerned with minority rights, when they are in the majority there are no minority rights, this is where india is leading to, i hope it changes. as a hindu my parents never objected to me visitng dargah but Islam is not a Relegion but a cult invented to dominate the world.
9:54 I feel bad for her.
Ex muslim for 11 year from syria, people in my country are not such violent against Ex ones but at the same time they isolate us and give no right to change name or religion in ID and of course, forget about the right to speak it in public.. gladly I managed to go Germany for study and now living here and I feel I’m a human being and alive
Religion just separate love conquers all and I chose love ️
As an ex-muslim Bosniak, my people are too civilized to do this to me. I love my muslim brothers and sisters and they love me. The rest of the muslim world needs to get on our level. Proud Bosnian nationalist🇧🇦🇧🇦🇧🇦
I couldn’t believe that it’s happening in England as well
17:00 that is the real happiness.
Sending family member to the afterlife over religion… insanity
I am muslim and i think if someone leaves islam and it makes them happy then they should do it
This is tough to watch. I’m an ex-muslim and can relate to everything in this video.
Rana is such an inspirational and courageous female!!
She is missing her family so much
After watching this video I’m convinced that those attackers are definitely “NOT TERRORISTS”.
As an Ex-Hindu atheist since 13, I’m a hell lot grateful that I wasn’t born as a Muslim. Or else I could’ve died or faced harassment and violence for life
so sad and no peace . i am so proud to be an Atheist
I would second guess my faith if I had to fight for my God instead of Him fighting for me. ( Me- a former muslim)
I’m also an ex Muslim. Wow. Congrats 2 this young beautiful woman. I’m sooo happy 4 you. Good luck in starting a new wonderful life in Germany. Thank God you left that hellhole of SAUDI ARABIA. Some countries even today in 2019 are sooo backwards it’s ridiculous. Living in stone ages. The religion I practice now is VERY OPEN MINDED & accepting to ALL people. White or black. Gay or straight. Tall or short. Skinny or fat. Doesn’t matter
I respect islam as a peaceful and beautiful reigion, I’m happy for those who are so faithful to the norms and values and restrictions etc, but please give a respect in return for me to make up my own decision and leave the religion that I was born into.
When extremities take over anything it eventually gets destroyed. These type of activities will make believer’s lose their faith. Very Very Sad.
once upon a time when vice was neutral
When she said she missed her family i started crying, i understand her, i too am an ex muslim and i love my family but i know my parents will not accept me, and care about islam more than me
Peace loving people
It took me 11 years to renounce isIam. I was not brave. Now I am happy.
Wish I could be this brave.
I started watching videos pertaining to the so called peaceful communities to understand the madness. Anyone should be allowed to follow whatever they want.
all i’m asking you is a simple question what do we have in common with this culture ?
This was the time when vice had the balls to make sucha video, now the tables have turned
More than 36% of people from my home country of Iran are either atheist, agnostic, or otherwise non-affiliated.
this isnt extremists… its the norm
6:13 Phoaaaa. That takes balls man! It was reckless, but funny af, I gotta admit. Still, I’m glad she managed to get away…
i don’t mind being a trafficker if this story is genuinely told to save life
i m proud to be a Muslim Alhumdulilah️May ALLAH keep me ON islam Until my last breath.. Ameen
A message for my brother Mr, Hussein, from one Christian to another, the Lord prophesied how us Christians will be persecuted for our faith. But “blessed is he who is persecuted for righteousness.” Stay strong brother, for the Lord will reward you for your faith.
8.1k muslims dislike this video
best community for suree
6:13 no it’s not okay to do that, that’s extremely disrespectful
I’m an ex-Muslim. I have to pretend my faith continue even I woke because of death threat and violence harassment.
May GOD keep them safe.
Soooo peaceful
As a muslim, i can confirm that there is a law in Islam saying that those who leave Islam will receive death punishment. BUT, this punishment can only be done in Muslim country, and by the judges. You can do some research about this and you will find that Islam never teaches it’s followers to abuse those who decide to leave the religion. And not every apostate will receive death punishment, only those who pose threats to the religion itself. For example, those who leave the religion and start spreading bad news about the religion, or start convincing other muslims to convert too. These kinds of people will receive their punishment BY the judges, not the local people. What I’m trying to say is, what they’ve done to those apostate is very cruel and inhuman, but it’s not because of their religion. But because they have this mindset that if someone leave Islam, then they are considered as treasoner. Just like when someone leaves their country and start spreading bad words about the country or start leaking the government’s secret, then the country’s citizens will start abusing this person or harrass them for their wrongdoing, even though it is wrong to do so. I hope that you guys can do some research about this before judging us, because just like there are bad and good people in this world, there are bad and good people in Islam too. And their wrongdoing is not because of their religion, but because of their mindset and personality.
Please stop being sheep and following the herd and do your own research. We Muslims believe that Islam is an action of the heart. In other words, all aspects of the Qur’an and the Sunnah stress the fact that no one is to be forced to accept Islam, whether through conversion or through remaining a Muslim. Many verses in the Qur’an testify to this fact, where we read what means: *{And say: The truth is from your Lord, so let him who please believe, and let him who please disbelieve.}*(Al-Kahf 18:29) The very meaning of the Arabic word deen, which is translated into English as “religion,” relates more to the heart and the inner self of man. Many other occurrences in the Qur’an testify to this fact and make the killing of someone because of that person changing his or her religion a taboo. A close study of the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which serves as an example for all Muslims to learn how to practice Islam and carry out its injunctions, will show us that he never killed people who changed their religion or left Islam, for the reason of their leaving Islam. In incidents when the Prophet commended the killing of some people, it was because they had committed an offense to the Muslim community, threatening its safety, or because they had killed someone and were killed themselves in retaliation. Therefore, killing them had nothing to do with their apostasy. In fact, many Islamic scholars support the view that there is no prescribed punishment (hadd) for apostasy. In doing this, they use both reason and strong evidence from Qur’an and Sunnah. Hadd is a punishment allocated and defined by Shari`ah as a punishment for infringing a certain prohibition or limit. For example, the hadd for adultery is lashing for an unmarried adulterer and adulteress. The number of the lashes allocated for the carrying out of this punishment is 100 lashes. Therefore, if someone who has committed adultery and is proven guilty is lashed 100 lashes, this will mean that the hadd has not been applied. This means no one can decrease or increase the degree of the punishment. The hadd is a well-defined punishment, and is explained by Allah in both the Qur’an and Sunnah. Furthermore, the hadd cannot be reneged. That is to say, there is no pardon once a person is proven guilty. For example, if someone is proven to have consumed alcohol and is brought for punishment, a judge cannot forgive and release this person without applying the hadd on him. The Islamic scholar, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal related in his book Musnad the first time the hadd was applied for a man found guilty of theft during the time of the Prophet. The Prophet felt sorry for him, yet he commanded for the hadd to be applied. Some Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah! Why do you feel sorry?” The Prophet said, “Why shouldn’t I while you have brought him to me and you could have hidden his offense (i.e. giving the man a chance to repent)? Allah is the Pardoner and He loves pardoning, but it is not allowed for a ruler to whom an offender is brought for the hadd to be applied, to drop that hadd.” If we look, in the light of all this, to apostasy, we will find that there is no decisive and definitive punishment in the Qur’an for an apostate, and that there is no single incident in the life of the Prophet to prove that he killed anyone for leaving Islam”. Proud ex muslim from Kerala…️
proud to be muslim thank to almighty feeling blessed.thats my choice
6:13 isn’t that a humiliation of a religion and even in a holy site of that religion? How we can call that bravery?
I hope my father would understand that I was not born with a religion so i should have the choice to choose what i want to follow and what i don’t
Thank’s god i born in secular country
move out of islam means death, that doesnt sound too peaceful for a religion
“You don’t judge an entire group of people, based on the actions of a few.”
It’s so glad our voices are finally being heard! Ex-Muslim Atheist
If your religion feels so uncomfortable by people who leave it that you threaten them with violence and murder, that raises doubt about the validity actual truth of your faith, doesn’t it?
You can be an Atheist and a Hindu at the same time. I am an atheist but I like and believe the “Karma” theory of Hinduism and my parents or relatives have no issue with me being an atheist. Your good deeds do return back to you, keep doing good Karma!!
IM SHOCK HOW THESE PEOPLE SAYS THAT THEY DONT HAVE PEACE AND HAPPINESS THEY WILL BE THINKING THEY LIVING A LIFE BUT WANT HAVE THERE SOUL IN PEACE
Creating a prison on name of religion.. could not be a religion… Freedom should be first & foremost basis of any religion. Given a choice how many muslim would freely accept it .
gues this why i dont see manny people leaving Islam, even they do they dont talk about it.
rewatching this after what’s happening in France.
Although I am a believer, and believe that religious principles can be good at running a country, freedom of religion is very important. Unless the religion will literally cause actual violence to occur, governments of free countries must allow people to exercise their religion freely.
Very peaceful indeed
Omg how can you force someone to be in your religion this is not good It’s getting on my nerves of thinking about our future
After watching this video, I feel proud and blessed that I was born in a Hindu family
Long live ex – muslim rescue groups, and aetheist group, there should be proper funding from charity , I praise this liberal , courageous girl , wish her all the best and the concerned groups .
Freedom is such a treasure.
I don’t know why any individual will care if somebody left a religion.
Quantity and quality is two different things.. hope u guys can understand that..
Peacefull religion
Article 18 of human rights, everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion, this right includes freedom to change religion or belief, and freedom either alone or in community with others and in private , to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. Sad at the Islamic religion dosent recognize this and recklessly hurts ex Muslims, everyone has the right to be whatever they want
the dislikes confirm everything said in this docu, people cannot handle it.
“Religion of Peace”
It makes me very sad that ex muslims are treated this way , though I am a muslim this kind of behavior is unacceptable in the true teachings of Islam, it is very clearly stated in the Quran in Chapter 2 verse 256 that “There Is No Compulsion In Religion” I pray for the ex muslims and the families because according to the TRUE teaching of Islam this behavior is UNACCEPTABLE
Religion of Peace
what a loving and tolerant religion
Algerian atheist, here. I almost see myself in some of these cases, and it only fuels the hatred I have towards this religion. Luckily enough I was born in Kabylia, a part of Algeria that isn’t extremely religious, and apart from the occasional scoff, and being entirely blacklisted by most “muslim” girls (including the only one I was in a relationship with – still a very very painful thing to this day), my atheism didn’t warrant any physical harm. This is a religion that normalizes discrimination and encourages exclusion. It expands through fear and pain. It is a cult.
There’s only one God and it’s called by the name kindness n compassion
I’m shocked vice would do a show on this, good for them
She just time traveled from 7th century cult to 21st century…truly historic jump
That Arab woman is so brave
Brave girl she will live a life of complete freedom ahead.
Wow, is this VICE? How did such a politically incorrect video fly under the radar for me? Gonna watch it asap
Good job
When this type of news is increasing day by day I doubt vice will dare to make such videos again.
I Am Speechless right Now i Don’t know what to say from my both side(non-Muslim and muslim) I
Personally I think there should be a law that partially forbids children to be bound by religious doctrine and can only formally join a religion when they’re adults.
I believe everyone has freedom to whatever they believe as long as it’s not being forced on them and/or outhers. My worry with religions in general is how easy it can be to devolve into religious extremism and cult-ish territory. Especially when a religion in a majority setting with full control over outhers. There are people out there that want you dead just for being different, it’s a sobering thought for sure.
Who wants to be affiliated with a religion that kills you if you leave? That’s all it is…religion…many rules and rituals but no relationship. Praying for the safety of those who make the difficult decision to leave.
I can’t believe this is vice.
he seems like a smart man.
If she ever comes to the United States and needs a place to stay, my home in Mississippi is always open to her.
One interesting tip. Dont share your religious views to religious people
All Glory to God Amen
I am Didarul Islam From Bangladesh also ex Muslim. Now live in Greece. I want to live independently. People all over the world want to live together. I am not at peace in Greece. Bangladeshi Muslims in Greece have excluded me from society. Now i need some friend whos already an ex- muslim live in Greece. Please help me anybody
At least now I know Vice isn’t as biased as I thought!
Rana ️ I am so happy for her. She‘s free!
I’m an atheist never hidden it and worked in parts of Arabia, never had any violence against me however a place like Saudi Arabia I would imagine most likely you would be punished I would say it depends where you are, where I was it’s openly up to you.
Sara doesn’t have to b alone. She can believe anything she wants n do anything she can accomplish n sets her mind To. If she wants to come to America. I’d make sure she didn’t feel that way again she is very beautiful n well spoken.
There is nothing that says if im a muslim or not I can be muslim or Christian and nobody can know but me I know people who are muslim and Christian
I love being a hindu… Its so flexible and you can do as you wish until your innerself feels correct… You can make your own version of hinduism… Its your way of life… I can follow any religion alongside of hinduism… Recommendation: Read ️Sri Bhagvad “GITA”️ because you don’t need to be a hindu to apply its teaching and it won’t go against your religion if you read the ️GITA️… Any religion – but read it because its not about religion but more of way of proper good positive life…
This was in a MrBeast playlist for some reason. I’m actually glad I know this now even if I’m not religious in any way.
I believe Dawkins interviewed her too. I like Rana for her courage.
It’s never too late to Ghar Wapsi!
I almost want to cry when i see what vice has become…
Religion of peace, ladies and gentlemen.
If you force someone to follow your religion, how do you expect people to be 100% devout. I would prefer someone make up there own mind so they’re faith is real and true.
I am a hindu from kerala, india. I goto temple, church and mosque. Never ever anyone stopped me from visiting any of these places. Beleif in god is like drinking water through different containers. Whether it is glass or a bottle, water is the same. Just like that, we can pray to god in any ways.
Wow I’ve been on atheist republic Facebook group for years and I had no idea they were on a vice documentary
The lovely girl at 11 mins I’m watching she must make it to Europe! She belongs here so she can be herself and dance ️️ you are welcome by me! so brave to face death but still follow your heart
To All the believers, If you’re so sure that you’re going to heaven , why delay ,leave for it now. If you’re worried about other believers, take them with you and go. Safe travels.
Alhamdulillah after watching this the Imaan of the believer increases, for pleasures of this temporary life which to end one day you abandoned that which was permenent, you didn’t present any logical arguments to leaving Islam rather it was all about rebilling against your family, a family dispute turned into abandonment of religion, indeed both the family and their children’s will be asked about it on the day of judgement and thus God guides those whoever He wills and Misguides those whoever He wills, but he didn’t Misguide anyone except those who are clear disbelievers, we are Muslims and we will continue to subdue ourselves to the will of God , you are more than free to rationally argue with us to your heart’s desire we are open to logic and reasoning but We won’t bear disrespect , for you is your life and for us is ours, you are free to leave but not to denounce and disrespect your old faith, what the family did was wrong but at the same time those who disrespect their old Islamic Faith instead of arguing about it rationally than that’s a serious offense to us, and it will be dealt with Repercussions, its our way of saying we take any disrespect to our faith very seriously you are free to leave but not go ahead and bang about it and try to demean and disrespect what we value in an irrational way , if you wanna argue then regardless of who you are you are more than welcomed but no way are we gonna tolerate irrational disrespect a sudden form of humiliation framed at any part of our religion.
Leaving Islam is a bliss Entire life changes for a good
As a young muslim, I analyzed alot of things surrounding me and I’ve come to the realization that the problem is not the religion itself, but the people and mentalities, it’s really draining for me to see the cruelty of mankind in general, and the hypocrisy of some individuals, but my mother gave me a beautiful advice, she told me to not let the ignorance of others change me or what I stand for, at the end of the day only God can judge us, he knows what’s in my heart, so it doesn’t matter what humans think
Once I told my Mom that I am agnostic. She told me what is that. Then I explained her the term. She, a practising Hindu, then said that whatever I believe and whatever I think is totally my choice and they respect it completely. My father also more or less said the similar things. I am proud of my parents. I am from Kolkata, India.
Poor Rana, beautiful girl ️
Would be great to get an update on her story @Vice News
Stay strong brothers
Even if I were an extremist. I could never think of trying to murder my sister like that, and all the executions for illegal conversion, all the killings of family members for worshipping something you value more, all this is just murder, that’s the only way to put it. No matter where these people are where it’s legal, no matter of what social class they are, every single one of these people are commiting a 1st degree crime, and everyone who committed it must be punished for it!
Wow know that’s very sad God be with him and he’s family ** God be with the want to leave Islamic your all in my praise
I’m an ex Muslim from Bangladesh. Imagine the fear We’ve to live in. Do NOT tolerate this barbaric ideology.
Honestly Sheikh Assim Al Hakeem deserves more scrutiny
As an Muslim atheist from Iran born in Holland I feel that it’s a real beautiful story about people who wanna live there lives in another country for their safety against Muslim persecution from extreme hate and bigotry for changing your faith to atheism but still respect for other religions in the world this was a great and compelling story of a brave woman who escaped Saudi Arabia to Turkey to Germany it was good that she had faith in herself everyday this was amazing to see thank you
Why do people give islam a bad name?. Remember only god judges. What you believe is your business not mine. These people dont represent islam.
There is so much peace in islam that peace is now overflowing
Astagfirullah
Taking other human being’s life is very normal thing in Islam..but falling in love is haram.
الي يبغى يكمل الاسلام معكم السعودية ️
Good expose by Vice!
Sunan an-Nasa’i 4059: Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: ‘Whoever changes his religion, kill him.'” Grade: Sahih (authentic) Sahih Al-Bukhari 6930: Narrated Ali: Whenever I tell you a narration from Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), by Allah, I would rather fall down from the sky than ascribe a false statement to him, but if I tell you something between me and you (not a Hadith) then it was indeed a trick (i.e., I may say things just to cheat my enemy). No doubt I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, where-ever you find them, kill them, for who-ever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection.” Grade: Sahih (authentic) Muslims who are going out there with the intent to kill are unfortunately following in the footsteps of their intolerant prophet. They’re following their religion, that’s all there is to it. Let’s hope one day the world will be rid of that violent ideology
Intelligent people are more likely to become atheist as they can see further than others and It should be fine for all of us. Respect for all humans.
Aah, the beauty of Islam
I’m happy that I finally left Islam but the sad thing although I live in a western secular country but I still feel unsafe from Muslims.
It pisses me off that just as much of Europe started to shake off the regressive influences of Christianity, we invited in millions of people in that still hold medieval belief systems.
Ex-muslim from Morocco here! Keep fighting hopefully one day we’ll be accepted in our families and community.
Humanity should really be a religion
Just slow Kids. One step at a time. you will hear a lot of westers (like me) really talking up how wonderful our freedoms are. But still, be cautious, there are still lots of problems with our lives too. Piutfulls you may not be aware of especially if you have been sheltered. Please stay safe, be wise, then find freedom that works for you. GLA and I do mean ALL!
Religion of peace!!!! Here you go
I am a Muslim convert and I think that everyone has a right to choose which path to follow it defines you as a person as a individual and having the choice of free will above all is what makes each and everyone one of us so unique. Only you know what’s good for you.
Another thing at 6:20 … the lady posing with a slip bearing atheist Republic writing with holy kabbah in background shows how respectful she actually is ,,,, when u don’t show respect to any religious holy site , why do u complain about not being respected in first place …. if u r atheist just go away without hurting sentiments of others… this is actual issue with all atheists !
I am an ex-muslim from indonesia and i feel them.
Poor guy in the beginning. Don’t worry our one TRUE God has a plan for you . You’re the son of the king now , no weapon formed against us shall prosper, our outer body is just a shell . Keep faith . God has plans for you . Your story is helping Others my brother .
Its About Culture Because Every Person Has Different Mind !!!
Western countries at least should persecute harassers aggressively.
Islam punish atheism or apostasy by death. In Islam, atheists face persecution and severe penalties such as the withdrawal of legal status or, in the case of apostasy, capital punishment.
What is wrong with them? YOU CAN’T FORCE PEOPLE TO STAY IN A RELIGION BY FORCE! That’s fucked up man. Religious believes are between man and God!
very interesting. i welcome this kind of refugee.
What’s sad is that many people have to hide from their family because of violence and emotional blackmail over this simple idea of not following a religion. Indeed religion is very outdated and limits peoples thoughts and freedom by constantly reminding of the punishment awaiting over simple pleasure of life.
As a Christian I say It’s not about religion but it’s about a relationship with God/Jesus and ultimately being better than you were I pray peace and blessings to everyone GOD bless
Oh wow this is happening in England? WTF?!? Kick them out!!!!
World’s most peaceful religion spreading global peace since 7th century AD.
You don’t need a family that behaves like that
The religion of peace in action
Many tks to Imtiaz n his group for helping x Muslims..n Vice News for highlighting these ..stay safe all x believers..
Leaving islam is so powerful. Every Ex-Muslim has the potential to liberate more people from a misbelief that has never had a basis in reality. I am proud of all who were able to leave it. We are getting more and more. Let’s convert this world to a better world without being forced by a small religious minority. #ExMuslimBecause
Every religion is a peaceful until the real peaceful religion arrives
Really peaceful
Hear this song before by the Mamalades ” Reflection of our Life “. Is still happening around the world.
I am glad this generation (especially those coming from Muslim backgrounds) are slowly but surely realizing the true face of Islam. Thank you, Vice for bringing awareness to an issue that moves me.
LOL yeah no one will kill you near the Ka’bah, like come on, what is this misinterpretation??? Most of these people had under base level knowledge about Islam when leaving, while watching the video, most of this wasn’t even about Islam
Still and forever a Muslim. I feel bad for the guy in the video, stay strong my brother.
To every muslims who says “Islam is a peaceful religion” your actions all over the world represent the faith you follow. No matter what Islam says on peace, I have seen no terrorist or stupid extremists from a religion other than Islam.
as long as u stay away from these areas where these guys are in majority its safe
Peace be upon you.
An act of rebellion from the “culture”. Sadly Islam has become a culture in may regions of the world rather than being understood in its true essence. She is a victim of it and I feel for her. The journey of Islam is personal for everyone. It is in the Quran that ” There is no compulsion in Islam”. May Allah guide her and may Allah guide her family. I would also like to state that there is no such “rule” in Islam that you kill the person who leaves. There is however a fact that once you truly enter, you wouldn’t want to leave it for the world. But I do understand how its expected from children who are forced with the religious obligations before they even understand the underlying concept about the need of having such a moral compass. Parents need to take note of this. And people need to actually read the Quran themselves.
Allah does not need them, they need Allah. See when you become blind only Allah can guide you.
Please protect her identity. Don’t reveal her location.

What a peaceful religion! I mean pieceful…
“For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.” 109:6 Surah Al-Kafirun
Liz Edwards, Wandering Quinn, is doing some great videos according to her herself, supporting Zakir Naik listening blindly and uploading video’s.
How can she take that photo in the kaabah.subhanallah
In high school a friend of mine left Islam for Christianity and his father kicked him out and disowned him…I ddnt think it’s this bad
So glad that Rana made it to Germany eventually. Thinking about many others whose lives ended in the water.
This is her life and she have right to live the way she want .
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; -BIBLE
There is no compulsion in religion. The Right Way stands clearly distinguished from the wrong. Hence he who rejects the evil ones and believes in Allah has indeed taken hold of the firm, unbreakable handle. And Allah (Whom he has held for support) is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 2:256 Qur’an.
if you have guts , then make same type documentary “leaving Christianity “
I hope my God that I know and believe in protect all those who are leaving islam
I am a Muslim and this is what The Quran clearly states, “There should be no compulsion in religion” (2:257); and also “It is the truth from your Lord; wherefore let him who will believe and let him who will disbelieve” (18:30). So we should not kill nor beat any ex Muslim just because they disbelieved. Also I was not religious when I was young and hanging and chilling with my friends doing every haram thing listed on the Holy book, that is out of ignorance and believe me when you get down in life and the nightlife and the drugs aren’t helping no more, then you will go back to ALLAH willingly and you will find real Guidance. One thing ALLAH guarantees to give is Guidance if anyone asks for it sincerely.
ex mus from algeria we live in terror but we keep fighting evry day
To think that people die for the same religion that others take for granted is quite sobering
Faith to Faithless is an amazing group. If their charity work exclusive to the UK the UK gov should fund it. The UK gov should not fund or support non-UK citizens in foreign countries. That isn’t our business.
Back in the Seventies I had Turkish students there parents came and visited us. They had left Islam ideology but feared having there throats Cut . This is Islam Fact .
As easier way of getting asylum seems to be by going through the atheists route a lot easier than other genuine options
i’m not in the Business of leaving my religion ever. with that being said killing someone because they left their religion is just incomprehensible to me. like what’s wrong with you? are you going to be in the same grave with them? why do you care if they go to hell or not? are you going to be the translator between that person and Allah? Nacal umak
Imagine trying to take ur child away from college just cuz u didn’t believe in ur faith…. This goes for all faiths
I grow up in Muslim household and spent 11 years studying Islam in the most religious state in Malaysia. I have changed my lD to no religion and my name to Yalak, my parent accepted the fact that I no longer pray and do religious activities.
the creator of us from the tip of our hair right to our toe nails.thank you Allah, nothing is comparable to him.nobody is worthy of being worshipped except him, Allah swt the almighty.
Great job imtiaz….
Sending strength to every one who has left the dangerous religion Islam. I know how hard you must have it. We’re in this together. Spreading our knowledge about Islam and helping others who are in danger. Me and my sisters are Ex-Muslims in Germany. Two of my (used to be) close cousins became extremely religious and they’re always with their religious friends. I don’t know how their views will change in the years. I’m scared for us some times.
I know most ppl here will turn against me although all of them will claim free speech as a right. Plz tell me what is the penalty for treason in US UK France ??? What happens if someone one violated the constitutions and rejects it ?, O you all listen Islam is a constitution Islam is a way of life Islam regulates political economic and social spheres Therefore if someone is damned and he or she leaves islam the islamic court will decree a punishment of death. But before that the person is talked to and heard. Islam and believing in one Allah is a blessing. Only those who are bestowed withh blesding are gifted eith islam The ppl eho left oslam actualy dont know that islam and Allahs mercy left them. Alhumdililah, we deal with traitors in the civilized way. Islamic constitutions therefore has death as a sentence for these damned people
That´s a tough girl. I wish her de best.
Good for you Sara. Don’t be lonely. There are lots of good people in the world.
Well done for leaving Islam, you have your own mind back.
Retaliation is only key
I’m an ex-muslim because my mom has made me out to be this way. She has ruined the religion for me. All of my teenage life and I couldn’t enjoy it because she’d never let me pursue things I wanted. She was more obsessed with me being in Quran school every weekend, studying my lesson, duasl, and hadiths, and she never realized that she was pushing me further away from religion. I ended up leaving when I was 18 and I’ve never talked to her or my dad since. My sister was the only one willing to hear me out and I still share a close bond with her. I miss my younger brothers though because I left when they were relatively young, but my sister keeps me updated on them. I moved away and started a free life. Catching up on the fun I missed while I was young while trekking towards my furture. In a way, it feels good to live without the restrictions of religion. I get to do what I want, wear what I want, explore things when I want and just enjoy life.
I think you called Slovenia Slovakia when talking about her route to Germany
Brave people on this documentary.
“There is no compulsion in religion, truth stands clear from falsehood” Surah 2 verse 256! Millions of people reverting to Islam in the West, where’s the sword? The Almighty has guided them and they make better Muslims than many of those born in Islam, because they are Muslims by choice!
My boy is Hindu and he went out with a Muslim girl her dad tried to run him over and beat her just for meeting with him
Qur’anic passage (2:256) famously declares “There is no compulsion in religion, the right direction is clearly distinguished from the wrong.” Faith is an intensely personal issue and plainly each person should be allowed to find their own path in life
I am Chinese, and I hope that one day China can become a sanctuary for the world’s atheists and the largest sponsor of the atheism movement.

Vice before trump presidency is one of the most exciting news outlet in the world
This is some epic reporting, VICE. More of this, less of the Partisan Hackery.
This is why I want to be a part of Hinduism
You know a religion is a very good one when there are ratlines to escape the wrath of your former fellow cultists
When you highlight these violence to them, they’ll still tell you “its a Religion of Peace”…lol…
Fact: Peace has a different meaning in Quoran.
I recommend Apostate Prophet channel for more information, it’s true about how this cult treats non-believers.
Whatever you feel about the refugee crisis, I believe we should accept people who left Islam… whether they converted to Christianity or Judaism, or they became atheist/agnostic. At least these people are more accepting of western cultures.
The real gospel (good news) is that if you take psychedelics and be prepared for your set and settings, you will be able to transcend right here and right now. Like Moses, you will be able to see the burning bush as God (that’s Moses’ interpretation) transcend doesn’t just mean seeing a God feature, it’s that you are at peace with your inner self. You will accept the eventual death, the fact that we are just on a floating rock through space. Such acceptance is not meaningless, you will be at awe how evolution through millions of years made us human. How much we have yet to discover about the universe. Through yoga and meditation practices, you can center yourself. The ability to feel the divine (whatever it might be) at this moment during this breath is the ultimate freedom of consciousness. No more fake promises about the after life, it’s the present that matters. You will realize that the universe is made of stories, not atoms. The stories of atoms are also a story with scientific background. Different religion texts are just stories too. This is the “gospel” that the world needs right now.
I am an ex Muslim I am very sad because I was born a Muslim.
Let them do as they wish..that’s their choice. Us believers don’t care. I wonder how these people will feel once they reach old age, if they do..
Religion don’t meant to harm at first place, it should make us freedom and peace… It is true
This is really shocking.
0:40 † “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Paul the apostle ~Romans 8:35-39
I told my family that I am an Atheist they are ok with it. I am lucky
I read this on a Scientology video. When a person leaves a religion, there’s no conflict but when a person leaves a cult, there’s too much conflict Sometimes, some people think they are the contractors of their religion but in reality they make their religion look like a cult!!!
“Let there be no compulsion in religion; Truth stands clear from error.” (2:256) “If it had been the Lord’s Will, all who are on earth would have believed. Will you then compel mankind against their will to believe?!” (10:99) “Say, the Truth is from your Lord, let him who will believe, and let him who will reject.” 18:29 “And you are not the one to overawe them. Therefore, remind with this Quran those who reverence My warnings.” (50:45) “You shall remind, for you are the reminder. You are not one to manage (men’s) affairs.” (88:21-22) “Enlightenment has come to you from your Lord. As for those who can see, they do so for their own good, and those who turn blind, do so to their own detriment. I am not your guardian.” (6:104) “If they reject you, then say my work to me and yours to you. You are free from the responsibility of what I do and I for what you do.” (10:41) “The sole duty of the messenger is to deliver the message, and Allah knows everything you declare and everything you conceal.” (5:99) “If they argue with you, then say I have simply submitted myself to God; I and those who follow me. And you shall proclaim to those who received the scripture as well as those who did not, ‘would you submit’? If they submit then they have been guided, but if they turn away, your sole mission is to deliver this message. God is Seer of all people.” (3:20) “You shall obey God and you shall obey the messenger, and beware if you turn away, then know that the sole duty of our messenger is to deliver the message efficiently.” (5:92)
Rana is a badass
I am Muslim and I believe the way people were raised has a lot to do with this. Muslims are very strict when it comes to the religion however, if they took their time to really study Islam they would have had a different view of it (P.S I do not support the death sentence as a punishment)
People need freedom .which islam gives. Our cultures don’t. Our own way of living is not very democratic that’s why we have issues like this.love is when a bird returns to its nest before sun set . Wish everybody a good life because what you are it’s between you and Allah. we cannot decide nobody fate because I didn’t created anything and iam not 100 percent I do mistakes. Lots and love and may Allah help us all .
I’m a 22 yo Pakistani ex muslim atheist. I had quite big threats when my family and village realized that I was converted but I pretend to be a muslim now and everything seems fine. Sometimes I use to go to the mosque to pretend to be normal but it’s really frustrating. Soon I will leave for some other country.
“If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.” -deutronomy 13:6-11 Peace !
Going to be 100%… I converted to Islam with the expectation I would be left alone to read Mevlana and be a fair, decent person. I never prayed except in my head, never wore a hijab, never looked down on others. Then, I visited Syria (pre-war)on my way to Lebanon and saw women with even their eyes covered being led around by male relatives. In Lebanon Hezbollah was paying Shia women to have more babies so they could take over the country. In Turkey, anyone who didn’t seem Muslim enough was called gavur and despised. In Azerbaijan if anyone thought to not be Muslim touched something of theirs, it became unusable, unbeatable etc. These people were all horrible to each other and their families. Hypocritical, brainwashed, ignorant (the devil lives in your nose?!) And I became so disgusted I wanted no part of this idiotic cult of actors. It made me hate everything about these countries and people. My husband is Iranian and never believed any of it even though it was beaten into his head his whole life. It’s Ramadan now so we have made our usual jokes like my pretending I haven’t made any breakfast or he’s left me a solitary date on the table. It’s like our healing process.
Culture and Religion aren’t the same thing, just remember that.
الحمد لله على نعمة الإسلام وكفى بها نعمة اللهم يا مثبت القلوب ثبت قلوبنا على دينك واللهم ارزقنا حسن الخاتمة وارض عنا وأحبنا بفضلك يا الله
If this is happening in England then think of the other parts of the world
One way is to stop supporting Islamist causes, not to pay zakat, not buying halal, not to wear hijab, not to accept Quran
wow, Rana is such a radiant and cool person, I want to be her friend. Dancing in the street like that, the bubbly-ness, and interested in nuclear science. She’s so interesting lol.
Ex-Muslim here lol I hope my family doesn’t see this…. no, seriously though
Hi, I’m a Muslim and God clearly says in the Quran:- “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out from error” . Only if extremists knew this, there would be more peace in this world
Religion makes one’s mind Rigid , That’s why we should become Athiest/Agnostic Or Spiritual by doing yoga and meditation, if we really want to pray. Religions were political tool of past and still is, I really wish Extremist Muslims develop rational thinking and allow people to follow and turn athiest if they want to.
Ahh yeah, religion of “peace” I hope they are living happy and safe life<333
Religion should be a personal choice. You want to follow a religion? Fine, do it. You don’t want to follow a religion? Fine, do that. Nobody, should be forced to follow what they don’t believe in. I’m atheist and have friends and acquaintances that are from different believes. How we get along? Because we share the same idea of respect for eachother.
That happened in the Western world in a Christian dominated country. There should be a line and protection for these people.
I’m an Iraqi Atheist And I’ve been struggling to adapt to this society but I can’t, I find myself being stalked, Stopped by weird people and constantly picked out by my teachers at school :(, Why is it my fault? I’ve always been skeptical about Islam and it’s myths.
It’s not about what religion you follow it’s about how you live your life
The religious really get their panties in a bunch when the simple and likely statement that “there is no god.” It reaction displays a certain anxiety. Like they know deep down how flimsy their beliefs are, and are aware that they are completely based on faith.
It’s called fighting for freedom
Islam is spreading peace everywhere .
I left islam at the age of 17 now I’m 24 yo and nobody know that I’m atheist and I like to keep it a secret for the rest of my life
Im an ex muslim and im the happiest person besides the fact school depresses me
Rana is a great and honest girl. She is so sweet. The community of apostates should help her all the way to Europe. All the best.
It’s sad how a religion escalated into becoming more than a religion that takes over your dreams, you daily life and even your freedom and will to live fully yourself. It is a fact that religion does take away your sense of identity with yourself and the world. What’s the point of hell after death when some humans are taught to create hell for others through religion? I hope that one day, these religions and mainstream God become another mythology for the future.
Isn’t it beautiful how God made the sun’s heat perfectly so we have four perfect seasons at temperatures which aren’t too hot or too cold by a few degrees for mankind to survive subanAllah.
I love you VICE
indeed. i wouldn’t mind donating to help these guys rescue more people in need.
It’s interesting how Jesus preached forgiveness to people who left the faith saying that he and he alone must be the one to judge them. Yet in Islam Muhammad preached death and punishment to those who abandoned their faith
You don’t need faith to be a good person.
Sad how many of us take our freedom for granted and isn’t it a little ironic how most religions are supposed to be about peace, love, being a good person to make it to heaven and what not, yet so many people around the world are being persecuted around the world for having their own thoughts about said religions
Wow what a great Religion of peaceful people
Iam an ex muslim and am extremely scared of my father I think he has doubts that I am an apostate. May he try to put toxic substances in my food. Iam really afraid of him
Atheists from Islam deserve the highest amount of praise for making it out of all the threats, thorough indoctrination and brainwashing.
brave women
I don’t know what’s wrong with this religion like literally why so harmful mentality ? I am a Buddhist I’m so proud with all the peace around. Even if someone converts there should not be anything allowed as death. I don’t understand why this religion conveys such ruthless messages regarding women covering, honour killing and now this.
In sanatani dharma ( Hinduism) There is concept of ‘Hindu Atheist’ Which mean the one who don’t believe in god or its existence, but still following the path of KARMA. KARMA includes 1. Being Nice to everyone. 2. Do your duty, job, passion, anything which helps for sake of HUMANITY without expecting any reward.
Religion of peace at it’s finest
Hi, I want to thank you for telling me about Islam, as I have done my own research and feeling to convert. ️
& Then they talk about Islamophobia
I am from Saudi Arabia and I hope on the day I throw the niqab and live my life like I want
It’s not a truly held belief if you have to browbeat people into following it.
Rana is so brave so brave I didn’t know such bravery existed
This is a shock for me. Never knew Islam is like this to others who change from their religion to other religion. Tsk. Tsk. Horrible!
See you guys in Great White Throne Judgement, pls never give up Christ in your life!
With increased migration, you will not escape the umma, the umma is coming to you. The joys of diversity
There are a lot of non-Muslims in the world, if they would come out and speak up it would make a world of difference.
فِي الْعَالَمِ سَيَكُونُ لَكُمْ ضِيقٌ، وَلكِنْ ثِقُوا: أَنَا قَدْ غَلَبْتُ الْعَالَمَ».
”religion of peace”
Every one should have choice to change his or her religion, no religious extremists have a right to force anybody
I was denied social inclusion, intimidating,my whole life because am not orthodox but protestant.when i decided to speak against religion spiritual abuse in protestant church.i was and my family abandoned and ridiculed.and i needed a place to go to rehab.protestant christians denied me the right.to get clean.all religions are bound to control its not just muslims.contrary.here muslims dont care if you become atheist.but this one sided story just.all this in Macedonia.under charismatic leader alpin pop nikolov.he emotionaly abused me and others.imagine having no choice to go to rehab.the suffering included….the stigma.so this is just normal worldwide.
How Can a person leave such a beautiful religion
Meanwhile muslim says : thier religion is for peace
I am a Hindu but I am not practicing anything. Even I haven’t read any Hindu religious books. My parents never forced me. Most of Hindus don’t practice anything religious especially boys. But they still identify themselves as a Hindu. I think Hinduism is not a religion. If you’re born to Hindu parents then you’re a Hindu. You are following your religion or not that’s totally up to you. But you still remain Hindu unless you convert to other religion. That’s why I love being a Hindu. It gives me full freedom whether I want to practice it or not.
i converted to Islam and I love it , but I feel for these people , it’s not fair they should have a choice without being in fear for there life .
I love that stealth type music
Religion of Peace ️ is a very sarcastic tagline to this religion.
This makes the Spanish Inquisition look like a picnic
yeah, The Religion of “PEACE”
This is happening in England.
Just out of curiosity, is there any advantage of religion?? Because “I’m convinced that without religion we still have good people do good things and bad people do bad things. But for a good person to do something utterly bad it always takes religion”.
POPPY is so darn sweet. A real angel.
Yeah, its so frustating for me too. My religion it’s from my parents. And my parents religion its from my grandparents, and my grandparents religion its my great great great. I don’t believe in god. But i must live under Islam becuase they will kill me if they know im atheist. I must wait until i get a degree, get a job, and leaving them behind.
Lakum dinukum waliyadin. Why can’t people just let the religion become part of ‘one’s private journey’ with God?. I am Muslim, but witnessing this.. is terribly sad.
Yes they fight for Allah and they believe after killing Allah rewards them, Allah yes Allah. But The living God hates that
I’m in a similar situation and really want to leave Islam, but mine is a little worse since I happen to be gay too. I pretty much know that I’ll be disowned if I ever speak out so I don’t really know what to do now. sighs
I’m an ex-muslim myself and the only reason I’m living with my family is because I don’t have a job and I don’t drive. That’s why I’m trying my hardest to get a job at least so that I can get out of that house and live my own life.
Ladies and gentlemen i give you THE RELIGION OF PEACE
We kill and destroy eachother for an invincible god and book created by Man. Man has always tried to explain the complexities of the universe using Religion.
my son left islam, he still lives with me, i still cook for him, clean his cloths, i just pray for him so that he stays safe and Allah guides him back to islam.
Allahhuakbar proud to be a Muslim ️ alhamdulilah
I am in the process of leaving Islam. As anyone knowing distancing Yourself from the community is not that easy. Still I attend mosque for Jummah(friday)prayer to keep appearances. After not attending 3 I was scolded by some as becoming a “munafiq”. So sick and tired of it all, and every moment to act Muslim feels like a complete waste of the precious time we have on earth. But luck has it that I have found a “muslim” woman through arranged, that luckily I found out feels the same as I do. She want to remove her veil when we get married and move together to a new place. Best of luck to the rest of You wanting to leave the faith. Work on Your education, and a gradual distancing is the way for me. And will save family from shock from a sudden change.
Classic Vice not being able to stay neutral in anything
Islam means peace, so why when someone tries to leave are they attacked??
I get uncomfortable with vice news stories that DO not distinguish between extremist sects of thought like Shia, because there are huge differences in thought and authenticity of practices, but when discussing Christianity, the differences are distinguished. It feels like these reports are intended to fuel political divisions.
Sweden is just burning
To all the Ex Muslim get one word to you just be ready to day of judgement
Saying that Islam is a religion of ‘peace and love’ scares me when they said that ‘If you leave Islam, you can face death’… this isnt ‘peace’ or ‘love’ , this is threatening
allahu akabr️️️
Islam is truly a religion of Peace but my friend with a different spelling PIECE. One piece of the body here and the other somewhere else.
If one leaves the religion, how come he is subjected to its laws??? Rationality and faith just can’t go together…
What’s Haraam is always Haraam if everyone is doing it And what’s Halal is always Halal even if no one is doing it. We are in need of the Creator. Creator doesn’t need us.
It’s really about power & control
“I swear to you by Allah! You know that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: ‘The blood of a Muslim man is not lawful, except for one of three (cases):Illegitimate sexual relations after Ihsan (having been married), or apostasy after Islam, or taking a life without right, for which he is killed.’ By Allah! I have never committed illegitimate sexual relations, not during Jahiliyyah nor during Islam, and I have not committed apostasy since I gave my pledge to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), and I have not taken a life that Allah had made unlawful. So for what do you fight me?”‘ Jami at tirmidhi 2158 Grade: sahih (which means authentic) if this isn’t fucked up idk what is.
When religion becomes greater than humanity, these happen.
I am an ex Muslim and I’m trying to leave I don’t know how to do it I hate the fact that I was born as a Saudi it is a curse
Islam: Is like a cage for its followers. The relationship between the God and followers is that of a master and a slave. You can get in, you have to follow the strict rules, you don’t like, no question, you are forced to follow rules. Then___You want to get out. But you’re not allowed. If you try to run away, you get killed because that’s how masters treat slaves. Christianity: Is like a gathering for its followers. The relationship between God and followers is that of Father and children. You are in the gathering, you can stay as long as you want. You want to leave, you would be asked politely that why. But nobody would force you. And you can leave anytime. Because father treats his child like this. He won’t kill their child for leaving the home. He knows that the child is astray. And one day after the child gets to know the world, he will come back. And thats how Father treats a child. [I’ve experienced alot of harsh stuff happening to Muslims just because they refused to remain in Islam or criticized it. I’ve seen violence against apostates as well as non-Muslims. I’ve witnessed temples set on fire, churches forcefully converted to mosques with my own eyes. I’ve seen Christians who chose death but refused to give up their faith in Jesus Christ]
being an exmuslim in a Muslim country is a nightmare especially for a teen girl like me , prisoner in my parents’ house prisoner of a religion’s delirious rules for women. As a woman, I have no possibility to decide for my life. My father forced me to study in a field that I didn’t like and I knew what was waiting for me after University: forced marriage Also, the energy in the house has always been very bad. My father would regularly insult my mother and I, threatening us in the most deranged way and rarely I must admit, hitting us , my mom doesn’t seem to mind at all she says it’s OK cuz he owns us and he knows the best for us HOW CHEAP! and the only thing that they ever care and talked to me about was religion and my relationship with God mom would always watch me to make sure I’m not skipping prayer I’m not allowed to take care of my beauty like go on a diet or doing my eyebrows unless I’m married I only have to look good for my husband they teach you that your first and last goal is marriage, every day before bed we must all gather around the TV to watch a religious show or to listen to Quran that’s why I can’t sleep at night thinking of all those ways god uses to torture non Muslim with , the outside isn’t better there’s no one to talk to no one to trust everyone expects you to be a Muslim they all treat you like one of them everyone control everyone , there’s no love no friendship almost if not all the males here are the same they look down at women like a half minded person with no willpower or more like objects that are made to seduce, serve and please men , if you’re not all covered or already belong to someone well then, you are a public property anyone can touch you , insult you and sometimes hit you and in all these cases you’ll be the only blamed one in fact even women are convinced that it’s always the woman fault in case to live with Muslims you have to be another copy of them and the worst of all is there is no where to go no where to hide even law prevents you from Independence you don’t have the right to run no matter how old you are they will find you and give you back to your owners if you’re a woman your stuck there for the rest of your damn life you can’t imagine how lonely stressed and helpless I feel time’s is so hard just wanted to talk it out thx for reading and sorry for bad English
“Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion” -Stephen Weinberg, Nobenprize winning theoretical physicist. Who in their right mind would dismiss his daughter from the family, just because she is rational enough to question the faith, with good reason so? It’s only religion that can cause people with morally decent intuitions to behave in the most wicked and disgusting acts… The sober and tragic truth is that human rights, justice, freedom of speech and equality have been hardly fought for millenia against religious ignorance. Islam is currenly where christianty has been during the middle ages and dark ages. We need another enlightenment period.
A perfect video to show someone when they ask you why don’t you believe Islam Is the religion of peace..
Also why are there even groups of “ex muslims” because surely you should define yourself by what you are in the present and not the past.
Ah, back when VICE wasn’t just left-wing Guardian content.
On age of 12? Shows who these so called ex Muslim are
I think it was silly for VICE to reveal the current city she is living as it will put her at risk. Her brother can just take a flight over. I am happy that she got out though, what a lovely strong minded person! All the best to you and your freedom Rana! X
I am sure many ex muslims have good reasons for leaving religion and becoming atheist, I respect that but as I was going through the comment box, some of the comments are nearing borderline racism and hatred towards muslims and inadvertently every other religion is getting dragged into it bashing muslims and then bashing each other . You may feel it would be justified( rightly or wrongly) but personally I don’t feel it is right. As a Christian who believes in ” love thy neighbour” and ” let he who be without sin cast the first stone.” I believe that this hatred should stop. This is a cycle of hatred, next people would gang up on Hindus, then Sikhs and so on… Why is that? i believe that commentators should refrain from using such hateful comments. Respectfully disagree each other rather than calling names. Please as an indian I urge the Sikhs Christians Hindu don’t hate the muslims after all we are human. Rest is upto you guys and gals. P.S:- One of our great Indian scientist said this once ” For great men, religion is a way of making friends; small people make religion a fighting tool.”
I support freedom of speech, Freedom of religion, freedom from religion, freedom of choice & LGBTQ+ rights for all Malaysians/Humanity️🇲🇾🇺🇲🇬🇧
Can’t police arrest them especially which happened in northern England…
I am an ex-Muslim from Bangladesh. But I love my life and family too much to tell anyone. Religious belief or a lack of it isn’t worth putting my life or close relationships into jeapardy. There are millions like me in the Muslim world. Islam is becoming a hollow religion from inside out thanks to the internet.
Only a Muslim attacks another person for leaving the religion…such a peaceful religion
If Islam was a religion of peace nobody would be risking their life by saying they’re a non-believer.
imagine wanting somebody dead because they don’t believe in the same imaginary friend as you do.
Prayers for all persecuted Muslim. May the LORD ALMIGHTY guides you & protect you…
Cant believe youtube allows that guy in the beginning to preach after the death sentence!
Allah has made it clear that there’s no compulsion in religion. The life on this world is just a test for the hereafter. And Allah has also said that whoever seeks a religion other than Islam will be among the losers hereafter.
9.47 man those eyes I love her
I respect all beings and faiths, but this act is what cult does!
I love VICE and I’m a Muslim and even if anyone in my family converts to any other religion I will try to listen to him, help him out and maybe bring back to the religion. But if he is not willing to then ALHAMDULILLAH we can still live together but I won’t allow him to mock at me while I’m praying. So I see lots of atheist mock the beliefs of the people who believe in god. But alhamdulliah we can live peacefully if there’s not extremism. Wahabbism is rising and we should stop it.
I was Catholic, wen I leave they were actually releave, I was a pain in the ass for them, now I am Agnostic, never been so happy.
If you are truly confident that your religion is the absolute truth it should not offend you to such a degree when others leave or criticize it because your belief is already solid and nothing can shake that. People who are this violent and homicidal in the face of criticism or people leaving the religion are insecure in their beliefs or care more about controlling people and maintaining an established power structure than they do about the actual religion.
You can’t convert to Hinduism ..or leave Hinduism …because Hinduism is not a religion …it’s a way of life ️
As an ex-muslim I feel grateful to leave that terrible religion. The worst on earth.
I am a Muslim and there is nothing for leaving Islam in Quran Allah gives everyone free will, anyone can leave if they want. and they will pay for it in the afterlife, so Allah says that we don’t have any right to say wrong things about other religions… May Allah guide us all
In the name of Allah the entirely merciful, the specially merciful. i seek refuge in Allah, from the accursed shaytaan/satan get free ticket to the land of evil
My religion my choice .. why should others bother if I decide to leave it ?
Most atheist have a better moral compass than those who have religion.because they don’t care about heaven or hell but know what’s right and what’s wrong.
Religion should be tolerated but it shouldn’t be forced on anyone.
one sided story, this is the best class to learn how to claim asylum in Europe
PLEASE LORD JESUS BE WITH THESE EX MUSLIMS AND MAY THEY FIND THEIR EAY TO YOU THE ETERNAL LIGHT
Organised religion is poison! if every single person held their own personal beliefs (spirituality) there wouldn’t be any divides as we would accept that we are all unique.
These ex Muslims need to set the government straight. These poor, unfortunate people. My thoughts go out to them all.
True face of peaceful religion
Peaceful religion peacefullness at it’s best. Slow claps…
In England??? WTF!
Recently Indonesian Kings daughter left Islam and came back to her original religion Hinduism Thus shows that if people are converting to different religion or coming back to its old religion this shows that there is a problem somewhere in Islam
Why do they have to be rescued? I thought the religion is extremely peaceful
This video needs more attention so Ex-Muslim like me could get help and the refugees that we need.
It’s so sad that women living in places like Saudi Arabia are repressed and have to live in misery like this under the rule of religion. Women are supposed to be great, because, without them , there will never be newborns, and does anyone ever wondered why the word “Motherland” is used ?
And Muslims still try defending their religion, claiming peace and love
Imagine forcing a religion on someone else without proof that your religion is correct
I wonder how many people vice has gotten killed by showing their homes
Peaceful community doing work for religion of peace
That guy is a hero.
I have friend here, who had to flee from his country Iran because he converted to Christianity too. He can’t go back because his family want to kill him. He lives in here as a refugee. I know how he missed his friend and family but he can’t do nothing.
This video may have changed my mind about illegal immigration, just a little.
God has given everyone a choice to choose to serve Him or not. No man can give life and has no right to take it based on your religious decision. This for a Christian is unthinkable. Praying that you all find the God that made us all and loves us so He sent His Son Jesus to die for us.
Sad truth, Rana’s family can go anywhere in the world as long as they have the money and visa’s, what’s even sadder is that we seem to hear about ex-Muslims who get swindled into returning to their home countries because a “sick favourite Aunt” wants to see her before death & then they are killed. I really don’t see the point in making the sacrifice of fleeing if these ex Muslims then want to return later …
Is there anything you miss about Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦? My rights
I believe religion makes a person full…if anyone wants to remain non believer then its ok…
My name is Muhammad Mirza I’m in the most religious state in Malaysia so there’s a lot of religious institutions here, I spent 11 years studying Islam. I’ve changed my ID to no religion and my name to Yalak, I don’t regret spending time for religious studies, If we disregard the backward part in lsIam like empirical law, praying custom and prophets biographies you’ll end up with spiritual, hadith and sunnah you’ll leant that Islam is a very smart religion. Majority of Muslim countries are inhabitants of low l Q they’re uneducated of the smart of their religion but instead they focus on sharia because it’s easier to understand.
WTF! This is in England! What the hell is going on?
Faith is not a property which will be inherited by the children. Quran says a beleiver’s child could be a non- beleiver’s and a non-beleiver’s child could be a beleiver. If someone wants to leave Islam, then just let them. Usually it is parents fault that instead of teaching about relegion they try to force it. May Allah guide us all to the correct path. Sadaqallah ul Azeem
The sober and tragic truth is that human rights, justice, freedom of speech and equality have been hardly fought for millenia against religious ignorance.
I wish you happy & scsess live sister
Thank God I am hindu here I am already free . Because Hinduism is a library with infinite space for books One book is atheist Another is Buddhism Some spiritual Some for sex education Some for multi dimensional Thousands for science And our prayer Om shanti shanti shanti om (cosmic peace) And my two favorite words Aham bhramasmi- my identity is cosmic not my country, my religion, my gender etc Vasdeva kutumbkam- whole world is one family Proud indian,Proud gay, proud hindu and most importantly proud to be human
Vice revealing location of the people who are fleeing
I am a Muslim but it was so messed up when those 2 guys came and hit him it’s not right and it’s nun of there business if someone who leaves a religion just them be god can take care of if but to the people who left Islam or any religion may god put you to the right path.
I don’t understand how someone could get killed for leaving a religion they no longer want to be apart of. Like why would this irk u soo bad??
Thank you for saving ex-Muslims.
Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.(Quran 2:252)
Not as a Muslim but as a human, I feel sorry for her but it’s up to him/her if they have faith in God or not, no one can force you to believe in god
I feel so bad for people trying to escape Islam, it must be so difficult. They come to secular countries and everything should be solved, but now the Muslims in secular countries give them grief.
That is the true face of Islam.
Such a loving and peaceful religion.
The whole world should make a stand against this barbaric faith which prescribes death for apostasy! I hope Rana can get an education in the field of her choice. There are so many women like her. But hopefully things will change in Saudi Arabia as well.
Deuteronomy 13:6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices(A) you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods”(B) (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield(C) to them or listen to them. Show them no pity.(D) Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death.(E) Your hand(F) must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. Deuteronomy 13:6 That is a verse in the Bible about apostasy. Now make a video about saving Christians from the bible.
Lol I saw a boy in comment tried to preach that his faith is the best and also wanted to see the Hindu responded to ex Hindu. Boy, keep your faith to yourself. Living among muslim doesn’t make my faith grows bigger. The spiritual journey leads me to something more powerful than just mentality of ‘holier than thou’. I can tell the distinguish difference from many religions and I must said Islam is just… another level.
In the Ching dynasty, (the dynasty that founded China), the punishment for being late was death. One of the generals realized that the punishment for being late and rebellion was the same, so he decided to rebel. Islam will never be a stable religion because the punishment for apostacy, blasphemy, rebellion and murder are the same. So if a real murderous person becomes disillusioned with the muslim society he can just take it over. It’s quite telling that muslims almost always go after the educated and civilized ex-muslims.
“Oh look at this it’s from Vice news” “Oh wait a minute I’m a sane person why would I believe it?”
I loved the Christmas Markets when I went to Germany. They are beautiful and the German people were so kid and friendly!!! One man stopped my friend and I on the street after seeing a Canada flag in our jackets and gave us each $10 Euros and then said “Go Canada!” One moment I will never forget.
