Utmost respect for those guys. Nobody gets injured, no drama, no high speed chase afterwards. Indeed professionals at work.
D. M. Ball
A fascinating story about a strange mixture of ingenuity and incompetence on the part of a criminal gang.
Bruce Moriarty
My condolences to the family of Jim Kallstrom. And God Bless any officer that will do the job of a cop.
OversizeAxe
How nice of the cameraman to risk his life so we could watch this
Android 17
Remember watching this a few years back and thinking these guys must have been involved in the construction of this bank the way they were so well prepared 😂😂
Green Sneakers & Ham
You can never have a perfect crime with that many people. Someone will always brag about it….or get arrested on a serious charge and rat…. and the whole lot comes crashing down.
Barry Hernandez
Those were the days Now the bank robs us
sam kohen
There was a very similar robbery in Montreal in 1989. The thieves rented a space in a strip shopping mall right above a bank. Then during a long weekend in October they bored through the ceiling and helped themselves to the safety deposit boxes and made off with over $5,000,000.00
Josh P
The perfect heist is the one where you are caught over and over again but never get in trouble.. seems to be happening a lot lately.
Emmanuel
imagine getting arrested for robbing a bank because you never did the dishes!!
Ez Metric
I gotta say I give them credit for pulling this off this was planned well and how they were going to do it I’m impressed feels like gta5 but more realistic and impressive
Latashia Locke
Watching this is like telling people how to start committing a crime
Tracy Polselli
I wish they’d bring back shows like this and American Justice.
Umeh Hilary
My heart breaks and sank reading about the death of Mr. James Kallstrom. Rip and thank you and other good cops there that makes the society habitable. Goodnight
Cotton Tails
Love the FBI files. Can’t get enough.

James Kallstrom, American FBI agent and host of The FBI Files, died on Saturday, July 3rd 2021, aged 78. The Nu Yawk Affice will never be the same again. RIP, Jim. Edit: Fixed age typo
Sion Mar
Wow.. SALUTE to the FBI men who poured in all their efforts to catch these robbers. We need more good FBI men and policemen to make this world a better place to live in. May God bless all of you.
LadyAlf57
These guys were good. They knew the big money was in the safety deposit boxes, which makes sense. I would never have thought of that. Someone with knowledge was coaching them
LadyAlf57
Wow! These really did their research. They really thought it out. Makes me wonder if it was an inside job. But you know, by going into detail, this reporter just gave future bank robbers an idea of how to pull a future job.
Mbongeni V. Mguni
Just catching up on this episode. A bit sad to watch this knowing James ‘Jim’ Kallstrom died this week. Awesome guy, awesome show. Love from Botswana to everyone!!
ABDUL RAFIQUE KALEMBO
That was a hard and dedicated good job by the FBI.much respect!!!
mocro555
no weapons, no injuries, no casualties and they made a lot of money. These men deserve no jail time for this well done job.
Jay- Rus
Its kind of humorous to listen to the steps that the investigators take listen in on the phone or search the car. Today cops would just jump right in. They dont care about search warrants etc. I would find it near impossible to believe that officers today wouldnt have just opened the car door and started searching
Pierre Azar
Proud of those FBI heroes. God bless the ones who are still living and may the Souls of those who left us Rest in Peace.
Geoff
James Kallstrom sir, you established yourself as a superb presenter of this series. You will be missed. RIP.
Samantha OBryan
It’s always shocking to me that so many people get themselves caught by talking. He was good for 8 years but his egos need to brag got him caught.
Crazy Ralph
Wow, they seemed like they had all their bases covered, except for the most critical aspect……getting rid of the evidence!!! Leaving the car behind in CA with a treasure trove of evidence inside, was extremely careless on their part. Flying to California from Ohio was pretty dumb in retrospect also, seeing how thats what brought the heat on them from the get go? Had they just drove, NOBODY would’ve known they were even there!!!
Renilda Demetrial
NO PERFECT CRIME IF YOU PUT TRUST TO THE HANDS OF A GOOD DETECTIVES!!!
Arjun
The FBI FILES series makes the investigation video very interesting, not a second of boredom. Why don’t you guys upload videos everyday.
Katya Dunn
The word “robbers” reminds me of all governments.
jay dawg
It was so easier back than.. now technology has evolved, it’s a suicide mission to pull off a heist like this
Joe Framo
Love the FBI love the FBI there’s some good ones and there’s some bad ones but you know what they do it incredible job apprehending these crooks millions and millions of dollars and look how they were living wow unbelievable hats go out to the FBI 🙋🙏💲💖 Justice is served
Helen Kay
The twist in the tale about the dishwasher is brilliant!! Excellent investigative work!
Samuel Attuah
But the FBI is determined to identify the burglars and find them wherever they are ! I love that line .
mulindwa Hussein
I envy these FBI guys, they are very brave and professional
Joseph Prather
The crime scene is already contaminated when the vault guy grabbed the screwdriver by the handle.
Hugh Mungus
What an excellent investigation. The FBI did their job very well
Aaron Austrie
I’m so addicted to these FBI documentaries. I’m not missing any 🗣
James Bowie
Moral: don’t provide electrical outlets on the roofs of banks.
AzureGX
This is some Payday 2 bank robbery. Like holy shit, they came with a saw, a plasma cutter, some explosions, and operated like a unit. They even somehow knew to silence both alarms.
Samuel Becker
Agent Jim Kallstrom passed away last week. Rest In Peace, sir.
mpoly5
Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺 here lol 😂 though I’ve already seen every episode there is for the FBI files never get tired of rewatching them
young martin
The narrators voice is the reason why I watch documentaries. The actors too I think do a good job than Hollywood actors.
Last Chance
Amazing had the robber just taken the car home via driving/towing this would probably gone unsolved.
Alexey Grigoruk
There can be nothing better than good old bank robbery!
Kenyatta Clay
$8 million in 1972, that’s more than 50.52 million dollars today. Stealing is wrong but if your going to risk prison at least it isn’t like those idiots who try and rob a convenient store and getting a couple hundred dollars (usually less than $100) at most and doing the same amount of time.
Vincent K. McMahon
In other words they would’ve gotten away if not for that “former marine” snitching on them. It’s always the same story with heists like this where they don’t use any violence or threats do it professionally and get away clean some snitching ass bitch ruins it for them 😂😂
KIDANE TIJANI
My Greatest Appreciation to the hard working people who have worked around a clock in solving the unthinkable & difficult problems of the outlawed people who have been trying to get easy money which was under government supervision. Greatest Job. The agents who were involved in the investigation deserve a Great Credit for this.😘💝💯%👍👏👏🙏🙏🙏
Pat Cattin
Nobody named Mulligan should expect to get away with it even once.
Crusader1815
No crime is perfect if people find out about it. Many years ago, some computer programmer did the system for a big bank and skimmed millions without being detected… until the idiot bragged about it years later.
buck rogers
Yeah i’m sure nobody overstated the value of their safety deposit box in hopes of making a profit on what they actually had !!!
RAPSTAR
when the detectives couldnt find prints they concluded they wore gloves. HMMM good theory.
Legendary
I am sorry to hear about Jim Kallstrom’s loss. Rest in peace.
Sony Olivier
Great documentary keep them coming
John Allen
I lived near the Akron/Youngstown area when I was a teenager. When we went to Youngstown especially we watched what we said and who we said it to. Everybody had connections of some sort and they made money off of information. My dad was an FBI agent who worked out of the Cleveland and Buffalo offices.
50Shawnee
God Bless your soul Kallstrom. Condolences to his family.
ItMadeMeSignUp
Immediately: No, it isn’t the perfect heist. Seven people involved? Four too many, really. Seven people equals seven potential snitches, equals someone will definitely say something that gives up the gig.
Brian O'Neil
There must be more to how they found that buried money. After 3 months, it would be a needle in a haystack. Great acting by Chris Riddick!
49ers_red_and_gold
They where really good, so the FBI gotta be better! That last dude could of definitely got away with it, but nope gotta brag about it and women tell on you. 😤
James Bowie
Dodgy cash being hidden from the IRS in safe deposit boxes would never be declared as stolen.
Catfish Cave
They were such good burglars, I almost didn’t want them to get caught…
Semaj
Might’ve gotten away with it if they weren’t already under investigation in Ohio. I see a trend with many FBI Files episodes: criminals get caught when they go on a crime spree. Their best bet would be a one-time, high reward offense with a small, professional crew.
DAMIX007
Somehow, I never feel sorry for the banks being robbed.
Time is a path Walking to understand
I love the FBI Files here in New York City . I heard F.B.I James Kallstrom passed away on July 3rd 2021 so sad to hear may he rest in peace
HKim0072
They needed one smart dude to plan what happens before and after the bank robbery.
yussuf Abdi
Criminals always make a mistake , u just have to look for it.
Gary Lewis
Would of been perfect if they drove to Cali instead of flew with real names… and who leaves a car full of the tools that you just use for a heist? These guys was genius and dumb at the same time….
Manny From Miami
Anyone who lived back when we used telephone handsets would know when someone else picked up another phone in the house.
Eric Mowrey
They show a computer monitor at the FBI office in 1972. Whoever did the reenactment might wanna check that detail. There were computers in ’72 but nothing that could fit on a desk. Office PC’s didn’t show up until the early 80’s.
julius vijay
Fantastic investigation for those times.
Black Mamba
I really enjoy these shows
J J
This is a testament to how corrupt and out right sad the justice system is in this country, if an individual steels money they will never stop searching for them yet thousands of children go missing every year they stop looking after a few weeks if they looked at all now if it’s a family with money bet your ass they truly search if not your SOL, it’s truly sad how much value is truly put on printed cloth
Tech Inspected
RIP James Kallstrom, former head of the FBI’s New York (Yawk) office.
RONY BANARIA
Interesting story, good job FBI 👍👮‍♂
M L
Crazy that FBI Agent used to be a respected profession.
Lafaele Fa'asolo
It’s a lesson in life I supposed, you may get away with doing the wrong things for a while but keep doing it, eventually it will catch up with you.
TJF Denver
You really need to term the other gang members to ensure your survival … lesson learned
Deshawn Acosta
Crazy how you really only get caught if someone folds 🤔
TexasAlabamaboi817
If this were 2021 the robbers would’ve been posting thier heist on SNAPCHAT and IG or maybe even FB live❗🤦🏼‍♂🤦🏼‍♂🤦🏼‍♂🤦🏼‍♂
ol capone
WE ALL LOVE TO COMMIT THE PERFECT HEIST MIDNIGHT OF A NEW YEARS EVE !!!!!
Nick 92
I didn’t want them to get caught goes to show leaving any evidence behind is fatal and talking to others about it is also fatal.
