Epstein files: what they mean for Andrew and the Royal family
2 feb 2026 The Fourcast | Podcast
If you thought the Epstein Files would damage Donald Trump it is here in Britain where they have caused the most devastation. The most damning material yet about the former Prince Andrew include photographs that seem to show him on all fours over a woman on the floor, as well as humiliating emails from his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to Epstein in which she appears to suggest he marries her.

It all raises new questions about the conduct of certain Royals, the monarchy and the Palace’s handling of this over many years, and what this new low means for the whole institution.
Andrew has said nothing new – but consistently denies any wrongdoing, despite his financial settlement with Virginia Giuffre. Sarah Ferguson has previously expressed sympathy with Epstein’s victims.
In this episode of The Fourcast, Krishnan Guru-Murthy talks to biographer Andrew Lownie, whose work has explored the private world of the Windsors, and historian Kate Williams, who has charted the monarchy’s turbulent existence across generations.
Sarah Ferguson has previously said she “deeply regret” the involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and that she “abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf”.
New Epstein Emails Shatter Andrew’s Virgina Giuffre Story
9 feb 2026 The Royal Report
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s most senior aide appears to have drafted a statement intended for Ghislaine Maxwell to release which said the former prince did meet Virginia Giuffre and had his photo taken with her—contradicting his later defence.
Andrew forwarded the message on to Jeffrey Epstein without contradicting the factual account, new emails containd in the Epstein Files and seen by Newsweek show. Andrew would later tell the BBC they had never met and that when the allegation first came to light he thought: “Well that’s a bit strange, I don’t remember this.”
Yet, had the statement been published, it would have meant Maxwell had confirmed the meeting took place and, seemingly, also that the photo was real.
Andrew has always denied Giuffre’s allegations. She sued him in 2021 accusing him of rape and he settled for an undisclosed sum while denying liability.

“Nobody’s Girl”: Virginia Giuffre’s Memoir Details Sex Abuse by Epstein, Maxwell, Prince Andrew
22 okt 2025 Featured
Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s posthumous memoir has just been released, detailing how she was groomed by Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, whom she met at Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago resort. In Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, she writes that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew three times, beginning when she was 17, and was beaten and raped by a “well-known prime minister.” Virginia Giuffre died by suicide earlier this year in Australia at age 41.
Democracy Now! speaks with Amy Wallace, Giuffre’s ghostwriter, who says Giuffre experienced the “depths of hell” with Maxwell and Epstein. “It’s not just a catalog of horrors. It’s a woman who is terribly abused as a child, escapes from that terrible abuse … and then becomes an advocate,” says Wallace.

So could the former prince really face jail time?
But beyond the legal questions lies a deeper one about power, privilege and accountability. Will this just be another royal scandal that fades with the news cycle, or a moment of reckoning for the Crown?
On this episode of The Fourcast, Matt Frei is joined by Dr Tessa Dunlop, royal historian and host of the podcast Where Politics Meets History, and Professor Jeremy Horder – professor of Criminal Law at LSE.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein; in particular he has denied the allegation he had sex with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 and was trafficked by the US financier.
In this episode of The Fourcast, the focus shifts to the serious legal questions surrounding Prince Andrew and his connection to the Epstein scandal. As police investigate whether Andrew leaked documents to Epstein during his time as a trade envoy, the potential for criminal charges looms. The discussion also explores the larger issue of royal accountability—will this scandal simply fade away, or could it lead to a moment of reckoning for the Crown? Expert analysis is provided by royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop and Professor Jeremy Horder, a criminal law expert, offering insights into both the legal ramifications and the wider implications for power and privilege.

“Andrew Was FORCED To Settle! ” Panel Have HEATED Debate Over Prince Andrew’s Settlement
24 jan 2023 #piersmorgan #princeandrew #ghislainemaxwell
Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by lawyer Gloria Allred, socialite and former girlfriend of Prince Andrew Lady Victoria Hervey, historian and author Tessa Dunlop and the Sun’s former Royal Editor Duncan Larcombe to discuss the Duke of York’s settlement out of court with Virginia Giuffre after she was recently reported to have lost her lawsuit with US lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
Gloria, who represented some of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged victims, begins by explaining that she believes Prince Andrew won’t be able to overturn the settlement and file a lawsuit against Giuffre because there will be an arbitration clause within that agreement. Piers asks whether Giuffre losing a different case against Dershowitz could potentially discredit her claims against Andrew before Tessa points out that victims in these cases often come from troubled backgrounds and that we should treat each case individually.

Maxwell email seemingly confirms photo of Andrew with Virginia Giuffre is real | BBC News
An email seemingly from Ghislaine Maxwell appears to confirm that a photograph of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with his arm around his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, is real.
The name has been redacted from the published version of the statement, but the details indicate that it is Maxwell who was discussing Giuffre.
The former prince, who has always denied any wrongdoing, has previously questioned whether the picture had been doctored and claimed he had never met Giuffre.
Giuffre – a prominent accuser of Epstein and Maxwell – alleged Mountbatten-Windsor had sex with her three times as a teenager.
Mountbatten-Windsor, who has always denied the allegations, reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022. It contained no admission of liability or apology.
