“The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” Malcolm X
Malcom X is my role model and my favorite activist. The way he turned his life around is incredible!
You can tell in her voice that she is tired. She has been speaking against the murder of her father for over 30 years with no true real convictions. I pray that this family has peace.
MALCOLM X was not just a man… He was a movement. He will live throughout the history as a Voice of Oppressed yelling out for justice. He lives in our blood. We are lucky enough to know about who he was even though the words won’t do justice in describing him as he rose to the level where no common man can get around. Salute to you the great man … Salute to you the voice of millions… salute to you the lantern in the dark….
Disgusting how they assassinated him in front of his children and if U know who did this & kept quiet, you’re just as guilty & disgusting.
The real question isn’t who killed him, but why was he killed. I believe he was killed because certain people feared how much power he had. He had enough power to organize and lead large numbers of Black people. This was a threat to the people who wanted to maintain the status quo.
As a white-looking man with a Native American mother, let me say how much Malcolm X means to me; he is a genius who wanted to recreate his people, to bring strength back to them, to reinvigorate the mind of oppressed men and women… his legacy lives on, in people’s wide and different. Malcolm X lives on and no Judas can silence his power… know that!
She is truly beautiful and intelligent. Her father would be proud
I admired her father ever since I heard him speak on tv as a little girl, I Love him and never met him but my soul did.
Growing up, I remember Malcolm X seemed like a “no-no” topic. They painted him as such a violent person, but now as an adult I see he was very educated and had a very thought out plan for a revolution. Sad to see how my education was compromised because of systematic oppression/racism.
Ask yourself these questions: 1. Who benefits from Malcolm’s assassination? 2. Who has the power to pull it off? 3. Who has the power to cover it up? That’s the starting point.
Malcolm X is the greatest figure in American history hands down
It’s tragic to cut short the life of some one like Malcom who was one of the greatest agents of a peaceful transformation in society.
I think they should definitely reopen the case to get justice for Malcolm X, his family and the community.
The murder of Malcolm X will forever be a stain on this world’s history.
The Netflix”Who killed Malcolm X” was very very very well put together. They did an excellent job! I’ve watched it several times over & will continue to do so. It’s so educational. Shame on the FBI,CIA,NOI,FOI,NYPD. All had a hand on his muder. Long Live Malcolm X & BETTY SHABAZZ.
One of the greatest civil rights activists and will go down in history, rest in power.
I feel we all have a little bit of Malcolm X inside of us, we just have to develop the courage to let him speak out!
God bless her father. He was one of the influential men in my life.
Malcolm X type of leader we need today . The world is missing you
57 never looked so beautiful! She’s incredibly intelligent too, took right after her father!
“democracy is hypocrisy” Malcolm X, Rest In Power, my hero.
The fact that Malcolm X’s daughter is alive and very well speaks volume. Not grandchild. Not his great niece. Very recent. Nothing has changed but become worse. The injustice just isn’t as blunt as before. Woke ppl see it clear as day regardless and will not succumb to it.
People say she looks like her dad, but she’s actually a perfect blend of both parents.
One of the most powerful films I ever watched was a French-language film produced in the late 70s called “I as in Icarus” which was loosely based on the Warren Commission’s investigation of the Kennedy Assassination. In the film, one member of the Commission – brilliantly played by the late Yves Montand – refuses to accept the investigation’s finding that a lone gunman was responsible for the assassination and starts his own independent investigation which results in his own assassination. At the end of the film just before he’s killed, the investigator learns the significance of Icarus in Greek mythology. In the Icarus myth, the sun represents the truth and Icarus flew too close to the sun and his waxed wings melted and he fell to his death. IOW, Icarus got too close to the truth and because of this he was killed. Malcolm X was like Icarus. He got too close to the truth and was murdered.
Rest in POWER SIR MALCOLM X!
You can’t separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom. “Malcolm X”
Watched the documentary this week, it was wonderful and so informative.
Thank you DN for this informative and inspiring report. Even now it hurts to hear about the assassination of Malcolm X. . A man beyond his time fighting for the humanity of his sisters and brothers. Yes, this generation gets it and the ones that come after this one will get it also. What an awesome inspiring human being. My condolences to his family.
REST IN POWER MALCOLM!
Great documentary. I cried deeply. As a father, a leader ,and as man.I knew for years the importance of malcolm to us
This was a great segment! I agree, we definitely need to know why he was killed, and who ordered it. Ilyasah looks fabulous!!!!
Best documentary I have seen in many, many years. I love the guy who made it for the love he has for Malcolm X. Totally love how Allah looked after his daughters
Malcolm is the man! Edit: Malcolm is still the man in 2020!!!!
We miss you Malcolm X. Enormous hole in the Black community. No human can fulfill. None. We love you. You are a force. I will shove through my boundaries because of you and the one and only God. Whatever his name is. Still learning the truth. I am just beginning to take in knowledge of our history the past couple of months and how I can cope and go onward. This is so hard to teach myself. Hard not to conform to that which is heavily promoted on my phone and everything past the front door of my home. All I have is the company of my great aunt (to gain wisdom from), King James Bible, some YouTube clips, and prayer. I’m only 20 yet this is so surreal to me. I appreciate you. God sent. God bless your soul, your children, and the all descendants of Israelites.
“We have five seconds…we’re going to have to save it for another time.” NO AMYYY THE TIME IS NOW! I hope you continued the interview and put it up online, let this man finish, please! He’s put so much into this, for all us followers of El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz! Please and thank you
This is the best documentary on Malcolm I ever saw. I hope the innocent get cleared and compensated in this case and the guilty face justice.
Justice involved with crimes. Much respect to Mr. X.
The doc series is AMAZING!!! Please reopen the investigation. Mind blowing that people in Newark knew who really killed Malcolm X and allowed two innocent men to be punished for his murder.
I saw this documentary its really indept and informative It will give you a new perspective on his assassination. Thank you for this. REST IN PARADISE MINISTER MALCOLM
She’s gorgeous ️️️ but I literally watch the whole thing and it’s crazy how they had so many undercover people surrounding him without his knowledge and how the community turn they backs on him. It’s so messed up and til this day there is still corruption nothing really changed everything’s the same we’re still dealing with things different ways different scenarios
The pain and suffering of this family for speaking the truth.
Had the honor of meeting her not once, but twice in a post office that I work in. I looked up and knew exactly who she was.
I’ve learned so much from this. This interview was very well done. I commend all of them and the interviewer was amazing also. Malcolm X’s daughter is gorgeous. I’m a Christian, by the way. But I believe innocent is innocent and guilty is guilty, no matter what your religion.
MALCOLM X was an inspirational and powerful man, who was a phenomenal speaker. His speeches were exceptional remarkable. R.I.P X
Ahead of his time; a great and brilliant man!!!
“I AM MALCOLM X” I ask Allah the most kind that our Brother Rest In Peace and to unite him and his family/loved ones in Paradise Ameen
I was enlightened, appalled and after viewing it, depressed. Congratulations to HU Alum, Bro. Abdur-Rahman Muhammad for the great deal of work he put into this and the producer Sis. Shala Harris. Condolences and much love to Sis. IIyasah Shabazz and the entire Shabazz family. Brother El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz aka Malcom X‘s life and legacy will live in our hearts and history forever. Ameen. Amen.
Awesome interview session. The power of Brother Malcolm X lives on.
His daughter is awesome and might I add not a day over 30.
Malcolm would be so proud of her!
Ilyasah has a sincerity and intelligence that speaks volumes. A grounded individual.
Malcolm is one of the purest ever!
The tears for Malcolm the tears for Africans the tears for humanity
Great piece, Democracy Now. Thank you for mentioning the names Gil Noble and Tony Brown. I learned so much from those two.
Needed reporting DN!!! Thank-you for shining a light on this, I may never have known otherwise.
Malcolm X is a true legend for us in the near east. He has always been my role model and hero. May God bless his family and his soul in Paradise. The world now needs people like him not just for the black people but for all just causes in this chaotic and unfair world …In the darkest of nights such moon is missed.
Rest in power Malcom X
RIP, Brother Malcolm.
first i’m so sorry she grew up without her father, second my god she’s a very beautiful woman of 57 years of age.
Love the work y’all do Democracy Now!! One of the best moves I made in 2020 subscribing! Keep up the great work!!
I had the honor of interviewing Atallah Shabazz back in the early 90’s. Wow. Strikingly beautiful and brilliant. I waa nervous but she was kind and welcoming. I’m so glad I met her. Malcom was and still is one of my heroes. We are such a beautiful people.
Malcolm is one of my most beloved heroes. I grew up near where Malcolm was killed, his book Malcolm X was the first book I read when it was first published. This was truly a monumental crime against someone whom I and many many others consider one of the great leaders of the 20th century.
As an Iranian, I love and respect Malcolm X very much, and now I see that what he said was absolutely true. In Iran, we love Malcolm very much …
She should run for public office. This nation owes the family a huge debt.
May Allah grant him a palace in jannah ️
May Allah grant him paradise.
Woow you guys are so open minded. And such an amazing platform for all messages keep up the great work
It starts with the NOI rift, jealousy, etc…but the tentacles of Malcolm’s death reach all the way to the U.S. government.
Much respect to Malcolm X ,I have listened and learned from his brilliance. You cannot silence Greatness in a person eventually it will Come Out.”
That has to be the most beautiful 57 year old woman ever.
Malcolm X had an (admittedly) bumpy, & semi-deliquent start to his earthly journey. However, he was STILL so intelligent that he became LEGENDARY. Ms. Ilyasah is so beautiful & intelligent.
Definetly will be watching Rest in Power Malcolm X
The docuseries is awesome and well put together, I watched in utter awe
Malcolm X voice & mind was desperately needed in the second half of the 1960s and going forward in the future. It’s hard to even imagine just how much of a loss it was to the rest of the world that he was assassinated so relatively young. I watched the documentary. It’s interesting to ponder but none of it will bring him back
He was a man of great conviction and spoke truth to the enemy ! ️!
I teach my kids about Malcolm. I loved reading about him as a kid by my older uncles. I’m Mexican and family is half black. Because of malcolm, it led me to sunni Islam. I became Muslim at 16 and one day I won tickets on the radio to a concert because I also loved hip hop. I went to pick up the tickets and was on the elevator with a lady who saw my folder with Arabic on it’s cover. She asked me about it, I said I am Muslim. She exclaimed really? !! There’s Mexican Muslims in San antonio, Texas? I affirmed and smiled. Later found out it was qubillah shabazz. Malcolms daughter. She worked at the radio station. Alhamdulillah what are the odds?
His daughter is very articulate as many of us as Blacks.
I am really looking forward to watching this as as I’m finished Isabel Wilkerson‘s book. It’s been in my queue since it first was released. As a child of the 60s I think the media is distorting him and he was grossly misunderstood and have you been alive today things would’ve progressed further than they have. He was an extraordinary man. May he rest in paradise with all the truth tellers and revolutionaries that were assassinated/murdered for speaking out.
There is no news here. I read the autobiography of Malcolm X many years ago, and I read the ex FBI files on him and King and others. It has taken this long for anyone to do this. I’m not terribly optimistic something will happen
Amy is the truth, I been watching her for years and her voice alone soothes me️real Queen, and Malcolm baby girl is amazing and such great reflection of her father, we love
Excellent 6 part series very sad we lost an incredible leader that had so much left to do. He would have led real change on a world platform.
When you talk about manhood testosterone u just Malcolm X the man was just so fearless and unmoved
It’s crazy that she looks like Angela bassist and Angela played the role of her mother.
When MalcolmX died that was the end of blacks in 2020 you see that now, We don’t need a leader we need MalcolmX.
“How long shall they kill our Prophets while we stand aside and look”
Malcolm was an amazing man.
Powerful series!! The best documentary I’ve ever seen!
I was 4 yrs old when all this happened, but I love to listen to the stories of his life and what he tried to do, but one day that person did that did this to himwill have to answer to God if he doesn’t repent before his death..God Bless us all. Great video..
Thank you ma’am for your dad. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your dad was the truth
Brother Malcolm X was the very definition of integrity, love, and boldness. Shame on those cowards who killed him. The murder of our beloved brother was an act of terrorism. And those who failed at protecting him are not clean either. They silenced a beautiful human being because they couldn´t stand hearing the truth. Coward terrorists, shame on you…
Thanks for this valuable show. Can’t wait to see the documentary.
Malcolm X is a founding father of an aspirational American ideal that has not yet been realized. A big brother that stood up for justice and said enough. He is an inspiration to me and a prince of this nation.
I want to thank them all for making this film. “The arc of the universe is long and it bends towards justice.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
Malcolms daughter is solid proof that black don’t crack.
I love how this man is not giving up. I wish I can do something , to help . That’s the question!!!!!
Amazing Docu-series the whole thing is now in Netflix! One of the best I have seen in many years, they put this together very well.
Lies have zero effect on karma. Those sell out cowards who shot the great Malcolm X will surely pay the price one by one. Rest in eternal peace my hero.
One of the best people the black race could ever had. Long live Malcolm X!
I’ll bet this documentary doesn’t get the same viewership as Tyler Perry’s A Fall From Grace. Which in and of itself is incredibly sad. I have so little hope for my innumerably lost brothers & sisters
Awesome documentary and I don’t like watching documentaries about his death but Netflix did him justice. They could have went deeper but for those who are born long after they assassinated Malcom X,it’s eye opening.
That Docu-Series was courageous, chilling, and breathtaking. I couldn’t believe just how much the FOI, FBI and NYPD, were all integral to his death, and the coverup that followed. Don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but there’s no question his death should be re-investigated.
Want to get back at Malcolm’s killers? Just continue his struggle.
I am more than pleased to find efforts in this case finally being brought forward. It could be interesting in its revelation!
This documentary answered the many questions I’ve always had about this death.
lovely lady …. and her dad was right on the money about everything he said about the GOV wonder what he would be saying today if he could see whats in the WH?
Thanks so much for sharing. “Justice Delayed is Justice is Denied”. May Almighty God make it easy for everyone investigating brutal murder of brother Shabazz and crown their efforts. May Almighty God grant bereaved family inner peace.
All power to the people! By the ballot and any means necessary! Long life Malcolm X!
Amy Goodman is in a class of her own, such a respectable journalist.
I’m so grateful I attended a historically black school which taught me about the greatness of Malcolm X. There should a day to honor this man. I teach my children about him. They’ll choose your leaders for you. This man was a great leader and his life was cut short by the devil.
When Malcolm X began to organize the Africian American vote he became a threat to the establishment.
Hi everybody here, you should listen to his magical words on the record “no sell out” by Malcolm X. Trully wisdom all over.
I appreciate the content of this video however, I can’t get over this lady being 57! She is stunning.
Not every one forgets. Some remember. More feel.
I as a Hispanic have a lot of respect for this man to the point where I would follow him i he was still alive so much truth he spoke which why a lot Of his enemies were afraid of him long live Malcolm wherever you are you’re words still resonate to this day.
What a great inspiration.. For all man kind.
Malcolm’s daughter is a gorgeous woman.
Democracy NOW! Thank you for this
I have been fortunate enough to write and research the life and times of Malcolm X for twenty five years. For me he was bold, honest, fearless and respectful. Brother Malcolm wasn’t about hate, he wasn’t violent, he wasn’t dishonest and he never a traitor. Brother Malcolm was anti racist, anti injustice, anti inequality and anti oppression. Malcolm was for love, truth, justice and equality.
Man I love brother Malcolm, much respect
Visiting upstate New York where Brother Malik El Shabbazz was rested, I found stones and broad leaves covering his name. I was greatly saddened as I removed them and cleared them. What a man that even in death, he pierces through with his Truth. Peace and much love to his family.
Any scene featuring Malcolm X is, to this day, absolutely electrifying. I guess the scum elites simply could not tolerate this much charisma, intelligence, beauty and humanity in one single man. Especially a black man. Unbelievable and extraordinary figure. The 20th century produced a long list of heroes that emerged out of barbaric oppression – racial, colonial and class-based – to fight for freedom and justice. Brother Malcolm is foremost among them. Will watch this docu series with interest.
Thank you Amy for enlightening me about the great injustice, one of many in this country regarding Malcolm X, a hero to me and to both of my white daughters.
The World lost a giant, an amazing man that day. Not too often do the stars align to produce such courage, honesty and intelligence in one person. Rest in Power Malcolm X – you live on.
He may be dead but, his spirit is definitely in the younger generation and they are going to start roaring j
It upset me how they rudely cut him off at the end of this video just as he was about to comment and expand on the government involvement.
It’s been decades since I’ve read extensively on this. As a result, some of what I’m about to say, I’ll have to paraphrase. Eugene Roberts, the under cover NYPD officer, once said that after being assigned to investigate Malcolm, he initially had very little respect or feelings for Malcolm. It’s my understanding that Roberts had served a stint in the U.S. Navy. During his undercover status, it was learned that he was a martial artist and became a body guard for Malcolm. Roberts said that the time that he spent with Malcolm, he learned to have great respect for him. I recall reading where he said that Farrakhan couldn’t carry Malcolm’s bags —or words to that effect. Possibly Roberts wasn’t called to testify in court because he had gained allegiance for Malcolm and it’s my understanding that he continued his undercover work and was assigned to infiltrate the Black Panther Party. If I recall correctly, the respect that Roberts supposedly had gained for Malcolm caused him to question his status and he started getting in trouble with the police department. I have no idea how it turned out for him. I was in my early twenties when Malcolm was assassinated. He was like a surrogate father for me. More of a half century later, it’s my understanding that at least one person who was responsible for killing Malcolm, held some menial job for the police department. If that’s true, that’s a disgrace to justice. There is no statue of limitation for murder.
The documentary was brilliant. I didn’t even know they were doing it. I have a huge amount of respect for Malcolm X and can definitely feel for his family. But the documentary left me with the feeling that the majority of the black Muslim community would prefer this left alone. Is the movement or the man more important?? That being said the man deserve justice and the family deserves answers ️. Rest in Paradise. They don’t make men like that anymore.
The Greatest Hero that loved us and gave his life for Us,love you Brother Malcolm X
Thank you Brother Abdur-Rahman Muhammad for taking this to where it needs to be. You took upon yourself to shoulder what Brother Malcolm X’s family has carried for years on their own and what many of us also carry in our hearts and minds for someone we dearly loved, knowing that the truth had yet to be told. Thank you, we are indebted to you, God asked, ‘Who will go?” Brother Muhammad answered the call, “Send me!” He also has responded to the Spirit of Brother Malcolm, “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” – Malcolm X. May God bless the continued journey toward justice, surely TRUTH WILL PREVAIL!! Amen.
solid…detailed….definitely….hope that justice for 2 innocent men’s families will be the outcome of this documentary….how many years were lost because they were imprisoned????thank you for posting this Democracy Now…
There needs to be a part two! The interview was too short.
Long live Malcolm X! Long live his contribution to the anticolonial and antiimperialist struggle, that was a game changer and is as relevant at the time of his death. But today we celebrate his birthday! Long live national and social liberation of all peoples! This struggle continues as does the struggle against exploitation and oppression of all people. Down with US imperialism and neocoloniism! In the spirit of Malcolm X ,let us fight the capitalist, imperialist system that has racism, war and oppression in it,like the clouds have the rain!
I gain more insight when I watch Democracy now.
It truly hurt my heart when Malcolm said that, “they are foaming at their mouths.” The hatred is too real.
FBI needs to issue a public apology to the whole world for J Edgar Hoover
We lost so many great leaders in the 1960’s. Nobody knows who shot who. I pray we find justice for the families of all our influential leaders in the 1960’s. We must protect political leaders who can actually make a difference. Malcom needed to bridge the gap between white and black. It is not so easy. God help us. Please come forward to give our families closure! Someone knows something. Life sentences and death penalties keep people from coming forward. I believe only the victims family can forgive a crime such as murder. All murders should have 20 year federal cap with no death penalty. We live with our veterans in peace do we not? I am so thankful for their service. Most of our soilders had their lives on the line. We honor our veterans.
Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King were really black men who understood the meaning of life. African American men have been doing same thing like Africans. Black men are not learning from the past mistakes. Black women are intelligent one.
To be honest I don’t think we will ever find out it would’ve been good to know and their father left a wonderful legacy but sometimes you have to move on
Tupac : Should we cry when the Pope die?? My request, we should cry if they cried when we buried malcolm X
Thank you for shedding more light on us Sisters and Brother, I thank Allah for the media that was open to air this.
I thank everyone worked on this documentary, as an Arab and a muslim Malcom X has always been a respected figure who devoted him self to a cause. This documentary was such a eye opning for me and I can’t wait to get my hands on his autobiography, may Allah has mercy on his soul and grants him for his devotion with Jannah.
She looks so much like her dad!!!
Malcolm X was an incredible activist, orator, and leader.
We need to love our self and live righteous that’s what I just told myself , this is powerful for our people and all people
Thank you Amy and to all your team. Contributing to establish real Justice in this Country.
You ain’t have to find the exact killer just get those around and anyone who financed them. GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION!!!!
Malcolm X strong black man !!! I love him I truly wish he was still with us today what a beautiful strong man out spoken well dressed man they don’t make em like u no more Malcolm we need u always in our hearts
We should have MLK X day!!!
I remember going to hear Betty Shabazz speak at McClymonds back in the day. At the end of her speech, she took questions from the audience. When someone asked who killed her husband, she replied, “You need to ask Elijah Muhammed and J. Edgar Hoover.” I’m just sayin’, I heard that with my own ears.
I realize the hardest things one can do, is walk in our past great leaders footsteps, but the easiest thing one can do, is seek out for our own footstep by picking up where they left off. So we can see what’s in front of us, not what we cannot see, but know something went wrong, which by moving forward we can still see because it still in the air as we move seeking a better future. One has to realize justice in the past, are still the same justice in the future, the only thing is different is the mentality of the people, who learn how to accept the new design because it became dressed up like a turkey for thanksgiving. Injustice became a new right because the people had focused on finance, and entertainment, more than community awareness, which help break what the push was about in the past, had throw us off as a people to understand where we supposed to be heading towards as we seek out for our future. Anything had taken place to offset our future, came from our own accord because we had dropped to settle for excitement vs, a future. Which taken us off course to a different movement, where the new movement was like smoking cocaine, a quick fix, only last for a moment, with no foundation. Like they say nothing new under the sun, which we know history shows us for centuries, how the truth never was told, because of the love for a lie, had help us put things to rest. Ignoring what we see today, where a lot of wrong we allowed to happen, which created our situation today, is our own accord. Now the new world allow homeland security, and illegal network security which is all over us as the watch dogs of the country, and we accept it, or let’s say, is now a part of the things they doing to the people, had become a part of how the system functioning today, to be normal. If it’s not homeland security, it’s the illegal social network system security, we became comfortable in helping destroy others lives, we learn to live with proudly. Is hard for me to understand how the masses can call someone else a fool. One must not be conscious of all the acts they doing, and accept like a fool, they call others for not doing.
They may have “killed” his body. But, his hard work payed off. He is still inspiring his soul still lives in SO many. We will meet him again in Paradise, where all his efforts will be rewarded and not in vain. THATS the difference
Malcolm X was so phenomenal and intelligent that I think he would have been an atheist if he lived in this time period… He is one of my most favorite people in history
Peace and blessings to the legacy of brother El Hajj Malik Shabazz. Peace and blessings to his family and his legacy. A true martyr
Blessing’s Yes Yes Yes I Really Hope They Find Out Who Killed Him It’s So Serious an Important to Millions of People’s and His Family Yes Reopen This Case to the World Because it needs to be Done
Ilyaasah is a brilliant lady. Blessed with natural beauty that at 57 she still looked like 35 year old. I think it is heavy for the family of Malcolm to keep on discussing about the death of their father.
Blessing to the family.
My God his daughter is beautiful.
I’ve also followed the Murder case of the late Malcolm X. I had the opportunity to meet his grandson: we stayed on contact until all of a sudden, he stopped inboxing. Later I found out that he was murdered! Being a mother of 5 sons’, I was hurt and trying to understand WHY his death didn’t hit the television network. We had to read about in another Newspaper article.
Say man! Amy Goodman cut the interview once they where getting ready to talk about the government involvement, that was no accident.
I just cry and wonder what could Malcom have become with that degree of brilliance and growing understanding.
Malcom’s spirit never died. If anything, because people have been waking up in huge portions within a small space of time, his energy is even greater. He’s here. He lives.
It’s refreshes to my soul anytime I hear someone that is longsuffering speak. So much pain , it’s quite amazing how Black people have deal with pain and suffering . The late James Cone said that the christain religious cross is supposed to be a sign of pain and suffering and it should be when one considers that persons who where deemed guilty of having committed a crime that was held to be worthy of dead were to be hung on a crucifixion . The pain and suffering experienced by ADOS was not a means of retribution for a perceived committed criminal offense . The pain and suffering experienced by ADOS during the Civil Rights protests is unlike any ever experienced in the world . Women were getting bite by dog’s , hit with billey clubs and dosed with fire hoses , children died when the church they were attending was bombed . The suffering of Jesus can not compare to and should not be compared to the pain and suffering experienced by American Descendants of Slavery .
i was there, it was a great preview of the series last night at the Audubon with Abdur Rahman, Gates, Ilyasah, Senator James Sanders and a few other notables not to be overlooked. if it’s not clear it’s actually 6 parts so we only watched part 1 of the series for the sake of time.
Salute to that brother who did the documentary and to his daughter also…. White lady just cut him off, “We only have 5 seconds”, “Save it for another time”!…And to William Bradley if you’re the trigger man may you rest in!!!
Wouldve been great to hear Malcoms’ daughter talk about the dangers of white liberals like her Father did…
The embodiment of his Valor and Wisdom is Fascinating. Malcolm X was a standalone “challenging world powers,” at war with the most powerful nation on the planet. That Taurus was relentlessly determined! A TRUE HERO of the Civil Rights Era.
Awesome and mind blowing documentary!
Who killed Malcolm x made me cry really hard man. The fact that he was left alone, betrayed, with no money, no foreseeable solutions. And he went out to give a speech, it’s absolutely insane what you are capable of if you’re a man of faith, if you’re a man of integrity. Malcolm X was a legendary Leader and orator. To me Malcolm just said enough in his speeches that immortalize him for ever
Currently watching and i hope you and the family find peace with closure.
Not feeling the brother! Losing Malcolm X was a great loss to many!!
My hero love the movie I want his autobiography.
God bless you sister Shabazz I’m so glad you handling your business about your daddy
Malcolm X’s was a truth-teller. He educated the Black people on who they were as a people and that was major.
Malcolm X began to seriously question foreign policy, I think this was what really upset the establishment.
I love sisters Ilyasah and Attila, so well spoken. I also would like to correct Ms. Goodman in saying that Malcolm didn’t ‘change’, he EVOLVED.
I watched “Who Killed Malcolm X” and they have found the hit man. But the institutions and other figures are still around and the attorney general MUST open the case…
THE REAL PROBLEM WAS, AFTER HIS MECCA TRIP, HE MIGHT OF ORGANIZED MORE THAN JUST BLACK PEOPLE.
Malcolm X one of the most intelligent men that walked on the face of this earth.
She sounds like her father.
The police knew it was his end so they were to do nothing. Sadly I’m not even surprised. I silently cry when I see the girls particularly the first three cos they have some memories of him.
I don’t recall learning about this film until today (1/19/21). Was it nationally released or was its distribution limited? Where can we find it? Also, I too, was informed as a very young person by Malik El Hajj and Dr. ML King, among many others of that day. I don’t believe it’s fair to say that Elijah Muhammad’s Black Muslim movement “did nothing.” But it is true that many young people were deeply dissatisfied with our circumstances & with the results of our efforts. Ultimately, neither organization has solved the problem of the System of Injustice/Racism, though many valid strategies were tried then, by many groups.
A must see. What of the most powerful, if not most powerful, documentaries I’ve ever seen. Thank you!
His daughter is so beautiful and intelligent. She is a beautiful representation of her parents legacy.
You will be here forever Bro.Malcolm X.
She is her father twin very beautiful woman very intelligent ️
Malcolm X: ‘There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blonds to black-skinned Africans. But we were all participating in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and brotherhood that my experiences in America had led me to believe never could exist between the white and non-white.’
That is why it is great to have childreen. She can talk greatly about her father Malcom X achievement and you can se light on her eye.
Can’t believe she’s almost 60 years old. She could easily pass for late 30’s early 40’s and not a single wrinkle. Crazy…
Malcolm told the truth bout the Nation. He talk the talk and walked it out with no fear of death .
Damn she’s 57 but looks like mid 30s. She’s only 5 years younger than Amy Goodman 0.o
The years ’64 and ’65 seemed the beginning of this “downturn” of our US.
Imagine what a world we would have, had Malcolm and Martin had lived.
Malcolm well understood my brother our spiritual teacher and leader forever he planted our seed of prosperity that we continue to live by today but we still must continue to plow the field guide our people to where we need and shall be and need to be
Malcolm X still to date inspires many young and old. May God SWT bring his killers to justice. Malcolm X, may he be amongst the righteous in heaven, had an amazing life change! Intelligence like no other in today’s societies.
Ms.Shabazz was 2 years of age witnessed the assassination of her father the late Honorable Malcolm X , that scene if it was me at 2 years old would come and go throughout my mind from time to time like a few unforgetful experience that I’ll take with me.I have to say Ms.Shabazz at least 56 years of age doesn’t look a day over 30 .I recall that Sunday when Malcolm X was killed a news bulletin had me waiting for the news to come on . I noticed the toning down in his speakes from his earlier years phase “By Any Means Necessary” the journey to Macca had done something to him. The 60s were the decade of assassinations.
Are we really a democracy?
They need to be trying to find out who killed his Grandson!!!!!
I pray the family never gives up seeking their fathers killers. The truth must come out. Justice for Malcolm X.
Allah yarahmou! Great man!
Honey let your father rest let him rest in the name of peace
we dont need to focus on his murderers, we need to focus on the message that Malcolm x was trying to convey .
There were a few undercover agents/informants one being Malcolm X’s assistance at the time and seen near his body at the time of his death.
You are one of the strongest black man! Rest In Peace, Malcolm X
Ilyasah Shabazz Could change America in a Good way. She got the ability to make it happen.
I hear my Sisters pain!!!
I really LEARNED So much from that Documentary!! IT SEEMS AS THO EVERYBODY DID!!
Ilyasah Shabazz is a QUEEN!
In the early 90, I was incarcerated and was traveling from Rikers, to downstate. I was handcuffed to prisoner Johnson, at the time I was nineteen, and had read Malcolm X, twice. Once we reached downstate, he was carted off after threatening a C.O who didn’t know who he was, then everybody told who he was, and I was thinking I should’ve pushed a shive through his neck. Two years ago I attended a ceremony for a friend that works for a organization that helps the formally incarcerated, and I was sitting in the exact spot where Malcolm, was gunned down, and it brought it home again. I googled the pictures from that day, and the beams and windows are in the exact location, from the day of the shooting. Alex Haley, stated that the day Malcolm was killed, the black man died with him. I met Hagen, and he seems miserable, and I had to control myself not to confront him about this, but you can tell it still haunts him because he was used as a pawn. I personally felt sorry for the guy, but Johnson was proud of his deed, and it made him a celebrity in prison. Please Cold Case, the hell out of this conspiracy. His daughter looks so much like him, she even has his eyes and it’s like staring into his, and the level of awareness.
What an intelligent, well spoken role model for many.
The Doc Series was an amazing watch.
I wish they would interview the older sisters
I saw that docu-series via Netflix and the YouTube part of the broadcast talked about William Bradley which has been a known fact for years, so he didn´t uncover anything new. Also on a program titled Like it is, there was a segment where there was actual video footage of Malcolm being assassinated! Where is that footage and why did he not use that, if you really want to know who killed?!!
In all due respect to the tragedy of Kobe Bryant and his daughter. this to me was the worst Tragedy of a family and nation losing an iconic hero, husband, father, brother and more! His words still ring true today
This content is right on time
Just like her father, she has a demanding presence.
It was irresponsible for law enforcement to fail to protect Malcolm X.
His daughter has his essence
Malcolm X enemies were on all sides, because his influence was too great in a world full of hate
she still affected by her dad being killed
Ilyasah shabazz has a pure soul it resonates through my screen, she is rare now as a woman
SUCH A QUEEN!!
Oh So interesting I could listen to these discussion all day. Enlighten some of us who little or nothing of Malcolm X
He was beautiful and masterful. Rest well Brother.
The fact that they killed him because they were scared of him is a testament of his victory , every single person who was involved in his killing will be brought to justice whether they like it or not they will be held responsible Malcolm believed that cz he died as a Muslim and we believe in the day of judgement . I love Malcolm and will see him in next life GOD Willing
IMO they were not informants they are sellouts. At the end of the day, they all lived their lives with misery and deep darkness amounts them all.
Asking questions you already know the answers to is beyond crazy. WE ALL KNOW WHO KILLED MALCOLM X
As black people we must grapple for self-taught education and emotional strength to spread to all…. And not fixate on the possible failings of others just for being spanked on the butt and raised up into life…. we need to discover that with self guided curriculum all knowledge is freely available… life needs to take a serious course for every single one of us humans.. no matter what our so-called race… any other topic is relatively extraneous… we don’t need perfect for now let’s just keep changing and correcting our flaws as we noticed them… but stay away from drugs and alcohol.. why would we be be hitting ourselves in the head with hammers when the reality indicates that we need exceptional discipline. We are all high when there’s a reason to be.. there can be No Greater Heights.
RIP Legend
The Series is AWESOME
A group called Democracy Now!: “We support unwavering freedom and the epitome of critically sensitive and accurate criminal and social justice.” Abdur-Rahman: “And on that note-“ A group called Democracy Now!: “Sorry we have 5 seconds..”
A powerful, thoroughly researched and honestly reported documentary. The only thing that I wondered about was the exclusion of Louis Farrakhan. He made many incendiary remarks in regards to Malcolm prior to his assassination. I’m not a religious person and the “leave it alone” comments by several “Brothers” in Newark just reinforced my aversion to religion altogether.
Read his auto biography written by Alex Haley. Freakin amazing. I love you Mr. Shabbaz, Allah yer7am rou7ak w yefta7lak bawebet el Jannah ya rab el 3alamiin
My condolences to Malcolms family. Men keep mess going.
TRUTH + FEARLESSNESS = MALCOM X
Talmadge Hayer was beaten mercilessly trying to flee after the assassination of Brother Malcolm. If William Bradley did indeed fire the shotgun blast that killed Brother Malcolm as many have alleged for so many years, then how was it possible that he fled the Audubon Ball Room unscathed, standing outside in a hostile crowd while the police were freeing Hayer from the crowd?
Democracy Now is today the best source of information. Thank you so much for your high level of journalism. THANK YOU.
RIP MALCOLM X
Amy keep brining us the truth thank you
