I’m Irish and this is the most shameful part of my history… Now often it’s ‘contextualized’ as a problem with the church… It’s so much worse than that… These women & children where first abandoned by the ‘fathers’ Then by their ‘family’ ( who where at times the ‘father’ ) and in turn their ‘communities’ After that, the church and state played their roll… The list of ‘people’ that failed them is long and dark… Of course all this ‘wrongdoing’ was compounded by the silence …and that ‘silence’ is owned by a great number of my countrymen to this day!.
So much pain 😢 My heart’s breaking for those mothers and children. How can people treat each other so horribly… torture kids… awful awful world..
Very very sick we need justice for these babies and moms who lost thier kids
So many people let these young mother’s and their children down, so sick and so sad. God will deal with those people.

It goes far beyond this, my uncle was sent to a home with Christian brothers, children were taken during the night and never seen again.
There was something similar in the Netherlands, unwed mothers were also sent to special homes to give birth, sometimes they were restrained and even blindfolded to prevent any bonding with the child, who was then put up for adoption. One woman later found out she’d been living in the same street as her son for years.
Surely they should pay for what they have done… This cannot be forgotten…. R.I.P to all those little children babies 💕
My whole heart goes out to these people who went through this awful suffering, i can only hope true karma is released on to the perpetrators of those who were complicit in this truely horrible crime against the innocent. Also all those who profited, and those who kept there mouths shut as thoroughly nasty conspirators. Thankyou Katherine Corless for making the stand for justice and speaking out for those in the ground long forgotten.

the babies in the septic tanks in TUAM , where in fact not disposed down the sewers as people say , but where carried down the steeps into what was an open sewer, more like a small swimming pool which now has large concrete cubes running in a line connected with piping very close together and with concrete lids maybe one inch tick that can be pushed either way. this was the new sewerage system that was built for the nuns, but not short after that the home was connected to the main sewerage system, so this system was disused.. so the nuns decided that they would keep the 5 pound note the GCC gave them to bury the children and get one of the domestics (woman who had been trought the system herself and was never allowed to leave) to carry the dead child down the back feild where the sewerage system was in the middle of the night and place the child in the concrete cubes, the chidren were wrapped in swaddling and place on top of each other and then the lid closed over again till the next child died. always follow the money,,
