I’m convinced they ALL do it. Celebrities, politicians, high ranking executives… how better to ensure someone’s silence and cooperation? It’s a pay to play right of passage.

The abuse went right to the top,,,, and savile did not work alone ,,, impossible, he was part of something much bigger, that’s still being covered up.

What could possibly qualify Jimmy Saville, a DJ/TV host at best, to be able to review a high security psychiatric hospital/jail to see where improvements could be made. A bloody DJ for christsakes. Whomever gave him those keys should be charged. Crazy what he was able to do. For sure others were in the know and involved.

How saville got away with it for all those years is only possible if he had help from police British intelligence royalty and the BBC keeping people quiet.. how these people have not been braught to justice is horrifying!!!

I worked as a hospital porter for a couple of years. Transporting bodies to the mortuary was one of our tasks. During the day the mortuary is fully staffed but at night it’s deserted. Taking a body up there at 2am is creepy. The rule is that we had to go in 2s. I assume the reason behind that is the fact that getting the body from the cart onto the hydraulic platform to place it into the cabinet is a two man job. You use a board and a slide sheet under the body and slide it across onto the platform and a big person takes some effort. Going into the mortuary (it’s always locked) in the early hours was always a weird experience. The smell and the buzz of the lights, which are very intense, always hit me. I was always glad to get the job done and get out. I wouldn’t say I was scared but I was uneasy. I can’t imagine wanting to go in there alone at night. It makes me understand what a weirdo Savile must have been.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Savile killed ,how easy would it be to cover up the murder of a patience in Broadmoor criminal insane? I really believe its possible he could have, if he was making rings from dead peoples eyes he could easily have killed Its scary how this ogre got away for so long and whoever gave him the keys to Broadmoor has a lot to answer for.

Shaun I just watched the Savile documentary and remember hearing a lot of this on your channel especially through David Icke and a woman whose name I unfortunately cannot remember. As long as there are independent content creators such as yourself, the children have a chance. Thank you for all you do!

Great interview but there was ducking of the issue of Saviles close connection to the Royals. Also to say this was all a one man operation without exploring the links to the powerful in society is lame. But im grateful for the initial exposure of Savile to enable others to pick up the baton and go forward with exposing the bigger picture.

You damage the soul of a child when you abuse them, and the children pay the price for that damage for the rest of their lives. We must protect children from predators – who seem to want to position themselves within easy reach of these precious ones.

I think he’s knows more about this then telling us about because it’s connected to the Royal family and the government the police the BBC the government even gave him a knighthood to keep him sweet

Why would anyone think Saville (who was never married) be qualified to give marriage guidance? The mind boggles!. Thank you for opening this can of worms!

I remember Esther Rantzen saying that basically it was the public’s own fault. Strange because she employed savile in her fund-razing organisation. Absolute abhorrent person – both of them. There is a brilliant Parkie show where Bernard Manning just rips her hoyti-toyti arse apart. She said Manning was a misogynist.

I was on board with this man until he mentioned Madeleine McCann and castigated people that believe the parents are guilty. Sean even agreed with him calling them trolls. Conveniently forgetting that the actual investigating country never cleared the parents. The evidence does not support these parents. Stop with the bashing of people trying to get justice for Madeleine.

I worked at Thames TV and the ‘rumours’ in the late 80s were that he was a necrophiliac …. I was in my 20s and I dismissed them at the time as there were many rumours about a number of entertainment providers (this was the worst)…..I now know not to dismiss rumours and believe that many other tales were possibly true and I worked with people who witnessed other demented behaviours amongst celebrities, not so horribly disgusting but the late Bruce Forsyth and Benny Hill need some investigation. There are some very well known others who are much younger and now in their 50s who were at the very least ‘inappropriate’ in their behaviour personally to me as a 20 something personally and probably many others as well but they didn’t commit crimes in my view at the time, they just pushed their luck….I won’t disclose their names but people need to realise that the Entertainment Industry in the UK (it’s not confined to Hollywood), particularly Television in the 80s and 90s was absolutely rife with inappropriate behaviour and I am sure there are many stories other than the ones I know of….

It was commonly known amongst the nurses to tell your patients to pretend to be asleep when he visited

I can remember in the 60s while I was still at school in Ireland seeing an article in one of the Sunday papers about saville trying to pickup young girls in a mini van. I don’t know the details but there was even a picture of him in the van prowling around. I believe there was more about the case the following Sunday and then there was no more. Think I was about 10 so around 1967.

The world needs thousands of you. Absolutely stunning work carried out for the right reasons. So much respect.

My brother was a student at Leeds University and was assigned to the Leeds General Infirmary back in the mid 70s and it was general knowledge then amongst the students that Saville was messing with the dead bodies in the mortuary. I didn’t believe it at the time and thought it was them just messing around.

Haven’t watched Shaun in a great while. He is such a great interviewer because he lets his guests talk without unnecessary interruption. Top notch. Listened while doing a tasty stir fry. Got interested again with JS because of the Netflix documentary.

My uncle worked for BBC as dispatch rider and he kept promising to take me and my young brothers and sisters to the studio in the early 80s. luckily or strategically his car kept breaking down. My mate used to live close to that park in leeds and we would see him around. He was a bit of a local hero. He groomed the whole of the nation through television. The mans an animal

My own mother grew up in Bournemouth in the 1960’s, Savile owned a flat there, and she clearly remembers all the kids were warned about him back then! Find it VERY hard to believe that the DofE didn’t know of the rumours surrounding Savile, it’s simply not plausible. The most important question is “The rumours HAD to be known, even if they couldn’t be proven, so why was he allowed to get so close to No10 and the royal family?” and that doesn’t automatically mean that those who knew were abusers too. In fact my own feeling is that he was allowed such access to power because the elites didn’t think what Savile was doing was much of a crime……and probably still don’t. Oh, and I would love to see this “compelling” evidence that the McCanns were not involved in the disappearance of their daughter, especially considering the way their story changed in the first few hours. To my knowledge there has never been a scrap of evidence to suggest that Maddie was abducted. Maybe the real reason why people are so adamant that the McCanns were involved is because of the number of times they’ve been caught lying!

I’m sorry it’s not an incredible case, Saville was possibly protected by the intelligence agencies, how many people can know what he was up to and for it not to lead to anything is beyond me and no one said anything at the time either!

After looking up the Yorkshire Ripper case and this case. I have to wonder, was there a culture of tolerating or even embracing predators in Scotland yard. I can’t believe I’m asking this but I can’t help it.

Is it possible that Princess Diana wrote the anonymous letter in 1995? I loved this interview. Mark is a special human being.

I defunded the BBC over their handling of the Savile situation: as usual they took no responsibility and the likes of Gary Glitter had already emerged as their protégées.

Great interview! Shaun is the greatest interviewer I have come across. And very impressive guest. I loved it when he said the nature/nurture elements that might exist in the offender are of no interest to him because we all make choices. Could not agree more! It is getting very tiring, this trend of psychoanalyzing criminals to bits and trying to find this or that cause for their character and decisions. All that – besides being not even quasi-scientific – to in the end inevitably conclude: yeah, he bumped his head, or was abused in childhood, but not everybody bumping their heads or being abused becomes a criminal. Ugh. Ok. Very helpful. There is such thing as evil and we might not know what it is, but inventing meaningless causes and categories helps no one. Except the psychologists and psychiatrist and the cohort of experts that live off this, of course.

One of many. They seem to all cover for each other and the big guys because it gets and gives them something like a promotion. It’s a tight butthole of power. It sucks when you get victimized in one of the deep dark folds. Good for him. It was time to come out.

Very interesting interview thank you. I saw an interview with Johnny Rotten and he knew the rumours of JS and others in 1978 and was banned from the BBC for voicing his opinion. Poor little Madeline! Wasn’t the room locked then?

On the McCanns…totally hypothetical, speculative and personal position. He has no real evidence to support it and he’s trying to convince you that he sooo good it must be true.

It would be interesting to know your guest’s take on the JonBenet Ramsey case and whether the intruder theory adds up at all in view of the bizarre ransom note.

I can’t wait to see the documentary on Netflix about Savile, although because it is Netflix I wonder how much damning information on other people involved with ties to him was not included. Prince Charles was his friend and allowed him around the Queen and Andrew had ties with Epstein. There’s no way Charles was some innocent guy. He is part of this one world government agenda, even if the Queen is not. What he is in his heart could be in stark contrast to what he’s ever said or told his mother and the country. Whether it involves the child sex trafficking ring or what happened to Princess Diana…well I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t the paparazzi but it was someone much closer to her whose hands have blood on them, if you catch my drift. Someone knows something and Diana and her sons and the country and the world need to know the truth if there was/is a cover up involving Charles. He cannot be King if he was involved in criminal activity at the highest level which is crime against children (even just turning a blind eye and allowing it to go on) and any involvement in what happened with Diana. God forbid a man like that becomes King of England and able to wield much power in the earth. It should not be.

These precious and innocent children were deliberately preyed upon by the perverse but powerfully connected so these crimes were concealed for far too long. I just read, “Unnatural Causes: The Life and Many Deaths of Britain’s Top Forensic Pathologist by Richard Shepherd.” This guy I bet would have a chat, and man, is he interesting. He worked on some of the biggest crimes in the UK over the last 30 years. The forensic pathologist’s perspective is fascinating. Well done, and thanks to your guest for a very interesting interview.

Just watched the new Savile documentary on Netflix. Definitely missed out on various details that have been mentioned by your guests Shaun. I watched the documentary like it was a clean slate. It is clear that he manipulated people especially women. What he got away with on television with people seems crazy. Getting a female tv presenter to kiss him on the lips and the presenter obliged. Lots of people wanted to kiss him because I guess they found him attractive plus he was a big a deal in the entertainment industry, he was one of the most famous personalities in the entertainment industry in the UK for several decades. People find power attractive, some people might have found his power attractive and wanted to kiss him others might just have thought he was good looking. Savile clearly didn’t care much for having a romantic relationship with anyone, he had several properties in the UK that he stayed in but frequently moved from one property to the other, he wanted to be a free agent. Certain clips like on Have I Got News For You and other tv shows he actually hinted at what he was actually about but people laughed it off and didn’t appear to take it seriously. He was so brazen! I can see how people over the years got taken in by him. All his charitable work for Stoke Mandeville hospital etc would make you feel that he was a good person but sometimes people use philanthropic endeavors to cover up aspects of their lives that are very suspect. As for not getting caught and sent to prison. He did get questioned by the police but he managed to evade further questioning. He must have had a very persuasive personality. My last 2 cents worth is that I believe that Savile is not the first and won’t be the last serial sex offender in the UK as there is still failings now in people coming forward and to be taken seriously and for their accuser to get to trial. People still feel like they can’t speak up which is sad but true, that’s because the system is still broken.

A fascinating interview, Mark is an excellent speaker with strong moral purpose and the legal mind to shred evidence from rumour. We may all conjecture with personal bias but hearsay has no value in a court of law. Thanks for the upload Shaun , concise questions. Edit:Peter Hyatt’s voice analysis of McCaan case is interesting.

As for the director general resigning, i’ve seen this before, can’t remember what it was over now but when they are pushed actually like this, all the letters to that person go with that person, so the new director general starts from scratch and he doesn’t have to deal with any of the letters to the previous guy, that’s why the director general is swapped pretty regularly at the beeb. Same reason i gave as before, secret societies.

Still don’t understand how Savile virtually had the run of Buckingham Palace at one time. He was even asked to give marriage guidance when Charles and Diana were thinking of a divorce. A security guard said on camera Savile would just show up and ask ” Is his nibs there ? ” and be let in. No one outside the Royals would be allowed to just come and go.

It’s just a shame that it taken until he died. My question to Mark if he was still alive today, would you still exposed him. I am not saying he didn’t do it. From seeing him on adverts to Top of the Pops he give bad vibes. I am glad I stuck to The A Team. I even heard four years (2008) before salville’s from hearsay that the police were waiting for the bugger to pop his cogs as he thing with dead bodies. I still like to know if Mark would of still exposed Salville if he was still alive with all the evidence? It was still feel cowardice that we had to wait until he died.

Interesting watch but I can’t agree with him that Savile offended alone, the McCann’s are innocent or that Edwina Currie is a very nice lady.

If working class parents went to the pub leaving their kids behind they would be rightly condemned and social services called but when it comes to the middle classes such as the McCanns, its suddenly ok.

The biggest piece of evidence in the Madeleine McCann case that surprises me cause it never gets brought up. A friend of the McCanns that was also some kind of doctor he checked on the kids that night. He supposedly just put his ear to the door and didn’t hear anything so he left. But if you or anyone is checking on the kids, you’ll open the door. Perhaps an accident happened cause the McCanns also said that they gave the kids calpol to help them sleep, but them being doctors, it wouldn’t have been hard to get something stronger. Perhaps an accident happened and the post mortem would show something else in her system. So the British government quickly came in for the rescue and whisked the 2 parents away.

What a man! He did something about it, rather than shrug his shoulders and do FA! “He who observes spills no less blood than he who inflicts the blow. Those who fail to prevent injustice are as guilty as the perpetrator”.

Jimmy Savile was an expert groomer and had a very warped mentality that high society went along with – there was a credit and debit sheet, the more money he raised for charities was a way of atoning for his evil deeds.

Yes. The huge, ostentatious, obnoxious headstone being removed was a massively important moment.

Living in London during the late Seventies I was a big fan of Jim’ll Fix It and became a Big Admirer of the Man, so once his true nature was exposed, I was thoroughly disgusted and sad that I was taken in by him. From South Africa.

To this day i am still at a loss as to how Savile’s got away with all that he did? He was a monster!

Minor point but it wasn’t Sarah Payee’s parents who followed behind her just before she was abducted, it was her siblings.

I really believe that Savilles name will end up in the dictionary in years to come as another word for abuse!! What a vile legacy that man left. I am 55 years old and to anyone of a similar age Saville was a hero with top of the pops and the fix it show and the money he raised but we knew no different!! Im almost sure the first time Jimmy Saville and Louis theroux was aired near the end of the episode after answering a door to louis Saville utters the words “I knew this day would come”. Since then, no matter what version ive found of the episode that part is cut out. Why is that? doesnt really match up with louis therouxs other interviews where he says he never knew all the way through that episode.

What causes many people to have a doubt about the McCann’s is their apparent lack of remorse and willingness to grab almost any media opportunity. They never seemed THAT grief stricken to me.

Found the Netflix doc quite good but felt like there was a hell of a lot they were not saying.

It seems to me that in life people live their lives running from their traumatic experiences, sweeping them under the carpet. Like onions we build layers. We protect those layers of trauma by formulating defense mechanisms and avoid psychological triggers by getting what we feel we must in order to satiate those emotions. From this comes projection, aggression, abuse, machivelian predatory single mindedness, and pure selfishness. To me this is the building block for greed and corruption. People take what they want from others because its easier than dealing with their own issues. Fantisical self delusions of power attained by exploitiveness doesn’t make someone less insecure. It just constantly needs to be fed.

I always got a really bad vibe from JS. I also remember hearing things about him in the 80s from People who had worked around him.

Thanks for that after certain videos on you tube who bad mouth the old bill about nonces. Even our beloved leader did it against the opposition leader in PMQ. this is an excellent interview.

SaVILE was spotted in his Rolls on a country lane late at night, near Leeds. When the young PC (who phoned in to a radio show to tell this story) asked Jimmy what he was doing, he said ‘waiting until midnight, she turns 16 then’. When reported to his Sgt., he was told to forget about it…

Can you explore the possible Fred West connection, the rumours of him supplying victims to be sacrificed in barns, always felt Savile et al was connected. Fred West always bragged he was protected by high up ppl. He was definitely bumped off to hush him up

THE McCan Case will be the study case of crime students for decades to come. Didn’t Kate Mc herself reject MWT’s theory about Maddie waking up and wandering out of the apartment and being snatched.? That would put the Mc’s in a worse light re: Leaving the kids on their own night after night (sedated?) AND leaving the patio door unlocked…..or was it the front door?….the parents couldnt seem to agree which door was open or locked…. for kids to get out or someone else to slip in. K Mc also said Maddie would not have been able to open the patio door. The Mc’s much prefered “the break in” story. MWT said there had been no sightings of people hanging around that corner apt, which doesn’t tally up with other accounts who did report seeing several men hovering around that street corner. It is a very quiet residential area and it’s feisable that a sleepy 4 yr old could have easily been taken in a matter of seconds. The nightly routine of the whole Mc group was known to everyone there and if some dodgy character had fixed their sites on Maddie inparticular (going with the “snatched to order theory) they could be in and out of that flat in seconds and yet the lady in fhe apt directly above 5a, the same lady who’s walls were thin enough to hear a child crying in the Mc’s apt, heard no such raid, despite K Mc’s theatrical roller blind rattling, curtain whooshing version of events. I’m not sure how true this is, but apparently when the police raided saviles gaff they found several items that he had stored there, in order to use as part of a plea bargain, including the fifa Cup and several Oscars. The detective assumed that savile had pinched these himself, thus exonerating him from what seemed on the surface to be a few minor indiscretions. Soon after this, savile received his knighthood.

The bit about Maddie was informative, but I would like to add a bit. I agree with Mark, but there were other issues going on various members of the larger group. There were variuos allegations in some newspapers regarding Gerry flirting with the female tennis coach, causing possible tensions with Kate. Also, the whole group were possibly aware they had probably breached the law in this UK regarding leaving children alone (I know they were abroad). Hence, were attempting to cover any problems regarding leaving them alone by possibly stretching the truth or being vague. This possibly resulted in confusing and contradictory statements given to the police from all the families in the wider group. Other families in the group had done the same thing with their young children. The police didn’t really cover themselves in glory regarding the securing of a potential crime scene, which resulted in confusing information leaked to the press. The police were under pressure and this resulted in the trying to shift blame on to the most convenient suspects.
