This is the 17 minute interview I conducted with the 13-year-old boy in Australia who swam 4km in rough water to save his family. It was incredible to speak to Austin and his mum Joanne Appelbee and hear their story. At one point Joanne didn’t know Austin had made it to shore and Austin didn’t know they were rescued. Also the line kept dropping off during our interview yet they were not phased! That’s why I keep looking up to see if they had reconnected!
