He voluntarily gave up his dukedom last week ahead of the publication today of a memoir by Virginia Roberts Guiffre which details her abuse and trafficking at the hands of Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell – who she says introduced her to Prince Andrew.
And a warning, this report contains details of abuse.
Introduction
Virginia Giuffre on Abuse in Her Memoir: Nobody’s Girl
The book is set for release on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
In her posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, Virginia Giuffre reveals disturbing details about her abuse, including the claim that Prince Andrew believed it was his “birthright” to have sex with her. Giuffre accuses the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, alongside the prince, of exploiting and abusing her. She passed away in late April.
Giuffre had completed the book before her death. Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice will be released next week, but The Guardian has already had access to the manuscript.
Giuffre recounts how, at the age of 16, she was recruited by Epstein and Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s exclusive resort in Florida, where she was offered work as a masseuse. She was then trafficked to a series of wealthy and powerful men.
The Cinderella Fantasy
On March 10, 2001, Giuffre met Prince Andrew, the brother of the current King Charles III, during a dinner at Maxwell’s home near Hyde Park in London. Maxwell told Giuffre that she, like Cinderella, would meet a charming prince.
The two women went shopping, and Maxwell bought Giuffre a Burberry handbag and three outfits, including glittering jeans, a top, and a few elegant dresses.
When Andrew arrived, he was asked to guess Giuffre’s age. He guessed correctly—17.
Giuffre insisted on taking a photo with her Kodak FunSaver camera, saying that her mother wouldn’t believe she had met someone famous. Epstein took the photo.
Giuffre remembers, “I still recall the prince putting his arm around my waist while Maxwell grinned beside me.”
They had dinner at a restaurant, followed by cocktails at a nightclub. “He was an awkward dancer and sweated a lot,” Giuffre recalls.
When they returned to Maxwell’s home, Giuffre was instructed by Epstein and Maxwell to “take care” of the prince.
Giuffre’s Night with Andrew
“We got into the bath but didn’t stay long; he was eager to get to bed with me,” Giuffre writes about their encounter.
“He seemed in a hurry to have sex. Afterward, he thanked me in his British accent. In my memory, the whole experience lasted less than half an hour,” she describes.
The next day, Maxwell complimented her, and Epstein “rewarded” Giuffre with $15,000.
Two more encounters followed, each involving sex with Andrew—in New York and on Little Saint James, one of Epstein’s private islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The last time was during an orgy with Epstein, Andrew, and eight other young women, according to Giuffre.
Giuffre’s Legacy
Giuffre passed away this year at the age of 41. Her family shared, “The toll of the abuse became unbearable. She was the light that uplifted many victims.”
In 2022, Prince Andrew reached a settlement with Giuffre. As part of the agreement, he pledged to make a “substantial” donation to a charity supporting abuse survivors. The settlement allowed the prince to avoid a jury trial.
Within the royal family, Andrew was sidelined and relinquished his royal duties and military titles.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre was ‘gaslit’ by UK government, Met police and Prince Andrew say her family
21 okt 2025 The Fourcast | Podcast
In 2011, Virginia Roberts Giuffre became known as the most outspoken victim of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Her campaigning against their abuse and trafficking helped to get justice for many women, but she was perhaps best known for a now-infamous photograph, taken when she was aged just 17, meeting with Prince Andrew.
She claimed it was taken prior to one of three times she was forced to have sex with the King’s brother. Encounters he vehemently denies took place but which have led to his public downfall, with Prince Andrew reportedly paying around £12 million to Roberts Giuffre, formally ending a civil case brought against him in the US without admitting liability.
Earlier this year, Virginia took her own life. Before she died, she wrote a memoir, determined for the world to finally hear her story in her own words.
In this episode of The Fourcast, Jackie Long speaks to Virginia’s brother and sister-in-law, Sky and Amanda Roberts, about the woman behind the headlines, the legacy she leaves, and the campaigning she wanted to be remembered for.
They also express their frustration with the Metropolitan Police response – but the Met reiterated to Channel 4 News today that they do not consider themselves the appropriate authority to investigate alleged crimes in the UK related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
This episode includes conversation around suicide and abuse.
Memoir by Prince Andrew’s accuser reignites a scandal that has long dogged UK royals

1. Various of ‘Nobody’s Girl’ a memoir by Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre
STORYLINE:
The British royal family is once again under intense scrutiny as a memoir by Virginia Giuffre, one of the most outspoken accusers of Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein, hits bookstores Tuesday.
“Nobody’s Girl” is being published posthumously after Giuffre died by suicide in April.
Giuffre had for years accused Andrew of sexually abusing her on multiple occasions when she was under 18 years old and a victim of sexual trafficking by convicted sex offender Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
While her book doesn’t break new ground, it has thrown fuel on a series of new accusations against Andrew, who is trying to control the damage to the monarchy from the long-running scandal over his friendship with Epstein.
The 65-year-old prince said last week that he will stop using his titles, including Duke of York, but reiterated that he “vigorously” denies Giuffre’s claims.
In her book — which leapt to No. 1 on Amazon’s bestseller list on Monday before its publication — Giuffre recounts details of how she first met Andrew in March 2001, and says the royal’s staff tried to hire “internet trolls” to hassle her when she sued him years later.
